ABS and service 4wheel drive lights lit up on my 02 envoy, are they related and why?

ABS on ? DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's are probably stored in the ABS control module . 4X4 an ABS are not related . To fix , take it to a qualified repair shop.
SERVICE 4WD: Refer to Transfer Case Circuit Description in

Transfer Case Shift Control Module
The transfer case shift control module uses the VIN information for calculations that are required for the different calibrations used based on axle ratio, transmission, tire size, and engine. The system does not know which calibration to use without this information. The transfer case shift control module monitors the speed of the front and rear propshafts in order to detect wheel slippage. When wheel slippage is detected, the module applies a clutch pack contained in side the transfer case. This clutch pack is used to lock-in and apply the front propshaft, transferring torque to the front wheels. The clutch pack is applied by a motor/encoder assembly. When slip is no longer detected by the transfer case shift control module, the clutch is no longer applied.

What are codes p1249 & p1211

P1211 Injector Control Pressure Sensor Above / Below Desired P1249 Wastegate Control Valve Performance
P1211 We all know that this code is commonly caused by "Hot Chips" that are demanding more Injection Control Pressure (ICP) than the High Pressure Oil Pump can deliver. For what it's worth, these are the exact parameters that trigger this code:
  • ICP 410psi Higher Than Desired for 7 Seconds
  • ICP 280psi Lower Than Desired for 7 Seconds
This code can also be caused by legitimate High Pressure Oil System issues. Below is a list of some of the causes:
  • Failed or Sticking IPR (Injection Pressure Regulator)
  • Failed or Weak HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump)
  • Any Leak in High Pressure Oil System (o-ring, stuck injector, etc.)
  • Low Fuel Pressure (Rare)

P1249 it is the HPOP, above or below pressure, if you have added a performance chip to your vehicle , you will get this code from time to time, basically its Turbo over boost

Have a p 1249 code and a p 0475 code p0603 code on my f350 diesel.plugged it in on a odb2 scanner no codes but they show up on my hyper tech programmer i reset them and they come back whats up

if your using a generic code reader like from the local auto parts store, they won't retirieve powerstroke specific codes.

P1249 is wastegate control valve performance
P0475 is exhaust pressure control valve
P0603 is KAM (keep alive memory) error

Your truck has a back pressure valve that will close to aid in the warm up of the engine. Exhaust back pressure valve can stick and give the P0475. The P1249 might be related. If your disconnecting the battery to clear the codes that's where your getting the P0603. Your turbo need to come out and the back pressure valve ooked at..it's in the turbo pedestal.

Diagnostic trouble cods - P1249 , P1211 , P0603 WHAT ARE THEY .

P0603 = Internal control module , keep alive memory (KAM) error

P1211 = injection control pressure (ICP) not controllable-pressure above /below desired.

Sorry, but I don't have a code definition for P1249.

DTC = P1249

P 1249 is Wastegate Control Valve Performance. this is a part of the turbo. More than likely the wastegate actuator is sticking.

P1211, P1249, P1280 fault codes on a 7.3 L turbo diesel

p1211=ICP Not Controllable-regulates oil to Injectors
p1249=Wastegate Fail Steady State Rate
p1280=ICP Circuit Out Of Range
All but p1249 deal with your High Pressure oil system that controls your injectors

DTC # 1 P1249 Code

P1249 does NOT appear in any of my charts or troubleshooting information. The codes in the P1200 section are for fuel delivery/mixture.
Are you sure that code P1249 was present?
It is unlikely that an engine trouble code on a Powerstroke would affect the transmission operation. R, 1 and 2 are manually selectable gears. If your trans won't shift into 3rd(direct) when in Drive, there may be a problem with the direct clutches and/or sprag clutch. This is a big problem area with your series of transmission. How many transmisions have you gone through so far? I've known quite a few people who have gone through 3 or 4 transmissions before the truck ever hit 60K miles, especially the 2001's. There are many updates available for your transmision and the Ford dealer may not know about a lot of them because they are strictly aftermarket, and they work!
