Some dealers put the radio's antitheft code in the owners manual. If it's not there call your local dealer and they can reset the code for a fee.

Replace the CD player. To pull the plastic baffle off the dashboard: Adjust the heating vents so they point downwards. Grab the plastic bar between the heating vents and the stereo. Pull. Remove the screws from the front of the mounting brackets. Pull out the crappy stereo. Unplug the antenna and the wiring harnesses. Transfer the mounting brackets to your new stereo. Cut off the big wiring harness (unless you're lucky enough to have a replacement stereo that accepts the same kind). Connect the wires to the wires on your new stereo's harness. Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, small flatblade screwdriver, rachet with 6 inch extension & 10mm socket.
1. Remove negative battery terminal (for stray voltage & airbags.)
2. Remove gear shift trim
3. Remove cable attached to lighter socket.
4. Remove center climate control knob and screw beneath it.
5. Gently pry both bottom corners of climate control face (up then towards the rear) until clear of lock.
6. Pull entire climate control console rearward until clips release. Leave all wiring attached.
7. Remove 4 bolts under radio (10mm.)
8. Gently pry between dash and AC ducting panel (both sides) and pull out.
9. 4 clip hold radio to ducting panel, gently pry while pulling radio out the back.

you have to check the e-brake shoes. these shoes live inside the rear brake rotors. the shoes will either just need to be adjusted or possibly replaced if they cracked from the heat of driving w/ them engaged. sorry there's not a quick fix to this one

The 'factory' radio has the security feature built into it.
You can add any type of aftermarket radio with no problems.
