Basically I'm seeing water in the drivers side front footwell and the drivers side rear passenger's footwell after heavy rain. I had an initial ideas why it might be happening but my remedy has proved fruitless. At first I thought that the drains on the wiper cowl were clogged after a big storm, and the water was pooling on the cowl, looked like it might slosh down into the ventilation openings under certain conditions. I tried to cleaned the drains and use a pressure hose to blow out the drainage hose. The water seemed to go right down, and I thought everything was fine until yesterday. Big rain storm last night and found the foot wells soaking wet and/or full of water again this morning. So now what? Anybody else suffer from this? Recommendations/solutions?

Not familiar with the Volvo, but many cars (Toyota, Lexus, Acura, Honda, etc.) have drain holes at the corners of the sun roof assembly. These holes allow water that gets past the sunroof gasket to drain through tubes that carry the water to the bottom of the car, where it exits the car.
These drain holes are prone to clogging. If the Volvo setup is like those cars mentioned, you can see the front drain holes by opening the sunroof and looking closely at the two front corners of the assembly that holds the sunroof. I have used plastic weedeater line to open up these lines. Compressed air can also be used.
