Under the hood of your car should be 2 ports., traditionally these are on aluminum pipes or lines.
It would really be nice if they had two different colored plastic caps on them. Some do.
One may be black, one blue.
Anyway, these two ports are for the hoses of your testing gauge, and for the hoses of the refrigerant.
One hose is high pressure, one is low pressure.
If you wish to do it yourself, you can buy a gauge with hoses at a car parts store, and you will get instructions on how to use it and to charge the A/C with refrigerant, R-134.
God bless your efforts.

Your issues can not be answered easily or definitively, as the LS is very complex and all electronic.
I would need the stored codes, that set the check light (MIL Light)
You can cycle the right dash display to ACFilter and Reset, with the top row of buttons,in center of dash. There is no sensor on the Cabin Filter. All the dash displays, are just reminders, you can set any way you want, % wise.
Possible issues--Fuses
-- Coolant control valve
--DATC module
You will need a really good Technician, not a general mechanic, to diagnose your problem
You need to put a professional scanner on it, to start any diagnostic work

A mechanic would check the freon level, then for power at the relay, the low pressure switch, and the compressor clutch.

most modern vehicles no longer have dipstics, but there is a fill plug, i do not know where it might be but look for a plug with a allen wrench hole on the tpo or upper side of the trans, with the plug removed add fluid untill you can see it thruogh the hole (if on top) or if it is on the side add untill it just starts to seep out at the bottom edge of the plug hole
