If it's pushing coolant out of the reservoir overflow, that's a sign of a blown headgasket. Get an exhaust gas test kit and test the coolant for signs of exhaust gas. If it test positive, you've got a blown head gasket

SOURCE: 1995 dodge intrepid overheating problem

I have had trhis problem for months. Replaced everything and just found out it was air in the system. I purchased a tool take sucks all the fluids out of the cooling system into a bucket along with any air. Once the all the air is sucked out you reverse the the flow and it sucks the coolent back into the reserve and it works great after that. Has not over heated for weeks.

SOURCE: Dodge 2002 Grand Caravan V6 3.3 engine overheating/no cabin heat.

Replace the bad radiator hose first.  Second- get you special formulated anti-freeze dye from the auto store and pour it into the radiator.  Third- make sure you got all the air pockets out of your system, cause the coolant system won't work with air pockets in it.  Fourth- Check for leaks by looking for the colored dye.  If it's not the radiator hose, then could possibly be a pin hole in your radiator.  Would suggest replacing all the radiator hoses at the same time while you got the coolant system disconnected, cause you don't want to have to come back and replace another hose in a few months.

I have a 2005 Suzuki Aerio that keeps on overheating change the thermostat change the radiator but a hose is building pressure causing it to burst

bad hoses.!! heck they are 10 years old, none last for ever.
a hose that fails is a bad hose. but some old hoses can be
pushed of the edge, sure, but hose is bad never the less.
is the rad cap new,? (do that first) use correct cap, pressure rating
never over 14psi.
my guess is you have venting? (name all overheating facts, SIGNS)
arethere signs oif steam and oil and carbon in the rad side tank or at filler hole (cold checked only)
if yes, that can be bad head gasket or far worse.
get the rad pressure checked (hand pump) leak down test.
then check the rad for exhaust gasses. blue/green tester.

does it only overheat parked.? when?
if it stays cool moving that means the fan is dead, parked.
the natural pressure is 12-14psi regulated by the cap.

you need to do tests first. not change parts.
are you going to replace all parts only to find a warped head.?
i cant hear engine run, nor do rational analysis.
nor see it mess up, or when and how bad. not me. im blind.
asking net bunny's (blind) how to fix this is over the top.
why not get the car serviced by a pro that has all those tools.
(at least 3 tools)
compression tester.
rad leak down finds leaks and if block head cracked or head gasket blown.
green/blue rad cap tester. (exhaust leaks)
a pryo IR heat gun to measure for hot points. (checks cores easy)

Its keeps overheating i change radiator and head gasket and still overheating

Did you also replace your thermostat? If it's stuck closed, engine will overheat.
When you did the HG, did you have head checked for cracks or warpage? A cracked head will cause severe overheating.A warped head may or may not show signs of external coolant leakage. Either of these conditions can occur if overheating is severe enough.
Are your hoses in good shape? An old hose can collapse when it's hot, and restrict flow. Feel them (when cool) for any sign of sponginess.
New radiator cap? The cap provides a seal to pressurize the cooling system.
Finally, how about your water pump? Any sign at the weep-hole of leaking coolant? Your water pump inner seal is bad, remedy is a new water pump. Or maybe the pumps' fins have corroded and not pushing coolant sufficiently. If there is corrosion, get the whole system flushed and start anew.
Pull your spark plugs and look for any sign of coolant in the cylinders. I know it's a pain to keep going back and checking, but you gotta be thorough. Plugs may be blistered white from overheating, but if you get it fixed, they should be alright.
Now, finally, really: sometimes, Randy, just a small air pocket in coolant can cause overheating. So, make sure you bleed the system if it has a bleed screw, or fill, cap loose, run engine till t-stat opens, level in radiator drops, then re-fill, and add coolant to your overflow reservoir to around the full hot mark. Tighten cap, and you are done. Good luck.

1990 z71 keeps overheating, pull over and overflow will be empty when i just filled it, i remove the coolant cap and release the pressure, runs fine then gets overheated again!

1- simple test- with a COLD engine- remove radiator cap- start engine - idle till at temp- look in radiator- is it bubbling? if so - head gasket or cracked heat- if not-2
2- change upper and lower hose and your thermostat- hoses can crush restricting water and thermostats fail in closed position can do it to

Overheating 94 tercel

Overheating can be the result of several things including: No coolant, stuck thermostat, cracked head, blown head gasket, bad water pump, cracked radiator side tanks, and poin holes in one or more hoses.

Start with the easiest things first. Check coolant level, if it's low you need to find out why. If it's at a normal level you know the coolant is not circulating through the motor. To test this run the car to temperature then feel the upper radiator hose, it should be hot and firm to the touch. Next feel the lower radiator hose it to should be hot and firm to the touch. If it's not the coolant isn't flowing through the motor which is the result of a stuck thermostat.

If the thermostat checks out ok crawl under the car and check all the connections between hoses/motor/radiator. Look at the side tanks of the radiator. If there's a carack in one they will only leak while the system is under pressure. Next check to make sure the water pump is circulating the coolant and not leaking. A siezed water pump will usually stop the pulley from turning resulting in a broken belt.

NExt look around the area of the head gaskets for signs of leakage, again this will only leak while the system is under pressure. Check the oil, if it looks milky there's coolant in it which is a sure sign of a gasket failure or cracked head. Good luck.

Where is the thermostat located on a 1996 Lincoln Town Car?

The thermostat is in the housing bolted to the intake that the upper radiator hose goes to. Check the Intake manifold for leaks, these are prone to cracking the Intake. Check the front crossover behind the alternator and check the rear where the heater hose is hooked.
