Keyless remote 1996 jeep grand cherokee laredo programing

Instructions
  1. Programming the First Transmitter
    • 1

Unlock all of the Jeepicon1.png Grand Cherokee's doors and open the driver's side door. Keeping the door open, lock it using the manual lock on the door itself.

    • 2

Put the manual key into the ignition and switch it to the "On" or "Run" position, whichever applicable, without starting the engine.

    • 3

Point the remote at the receiver (located by the little bulb on the caricon1.png ceiling) and hold down the "Lock" button for up to 5 seconds.

    • 4

When the driver's side door unlocks, you know the remote has been programmed correctly. If you are only programming one remote, jump to the next step. If not, manually re-lock the driver's side door and repeat steps 5 and 6 using each remote you would like to program and then continue.

    • 5

Turn the key to the "Off" position and turn the ignition on immediately. This must be done within 20 seconds of programming the last remote. You're finished!

My 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo is showing an amber warning light on the instrument cluster shaped like a motor but with door-like features on 4 sides. It remains lit while the other idiot lights go...

this configuration of light usually depicts a door is open or ajar. this could be caused by a door switch, the hood switch, the hatch switch, even your gas cap door might cause this to come on.
i would say that a proccess of elimnation would be the best course to take. start with one door open it and push the switch by hand untill you find the switch that makes the dash light go out.

if the doors when opened turn on the interior light and turn it off when closed the switch on these doors is good. these switches are either located in the door jam by the hinges or on the very end of the dash board.
the hood switch when you open the hood should allow the light on the bottom side of the hood to come on. pushing down on the switch should turn the light off.
this procedure should help you locate the problem switch

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4 x 2, windows and door locks work on driver side, but not passenger side.

sounds like an open power or ground circuit on passenger side, since the door lock and the window, lost its functioning. Both switches would have to be bad at the same time, which is not probable, to be the fault. Unless there is a saftey lock out switch on the drivers panel, controling the passenger side door lock and window.

Brake Light doesn't work when headlights on

Have you tried replacing your brake light switch located under the dash on the brake pedal or it could be a short in the wire. You need a test light and unplug your brake light hornance from the bulb have someone step on the brake pedal touch the light to the hornance and see if your getting electrical current back there

My sunroof is stuck open on my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo? Would it be a fuse? If so, how do you change it?

Check the fuses under the dash on the drivers side, next to the steering column. There should be a fuse puller on the fuse box door. Also a chart of which fuses at what so you can go to the proper fuse. Good luck, Please let me know if this is the solution to your problem.

The driver door on my jeep grand cherokee laredo does not stay closed what do i need to do in order to fix it

Sounds like your door locking device may be worn out from basic wear and tear. I'd just order a new one. Plus it's easy to install yourself!
