Check the light switch, fuse, relay and the wiring to the bulbs. Don't forget the ground wires either.

SOURCE: change head light

You should be able to reach under the hood into the headlight assembly and grab the bulbs and twist them off if not then you have to take off your entire headlight assembly then take the bulbs out.

Start by checking the fuses.Check both fuse boxs.Under the hood behind the batterie and Dr side end of dash. There would be seperate ones, lowbeam/hight beam. You can always check the bulbs by swaping them with the high beams.Just be sure not to touch the bulbs.Use paper towl to hold them.

The problem is likely your multi purpose signal light switch. If you take the lever and move it from hi to low beam will the low beams come on? It is common for this multi purpose (real expensive ) switch to fail after a period of time! The steering wheel may have to be removed, to change it. The air bags will also need to be disabled so as not to active them while removing the switch.

Welcome to Fixya

Check the relay under the head. Most of the cars has LOW/HIGH beam relay. Replace them if necessary. You may try to test also the wires to see if there is a short in the wire. You can find this wire by using a test light turn on the key and get a good ground. With the test light, poke the wire and see if the test light illunimates with the headlight switch on.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Why are my headlights not working on my denali

Can simply be the low beam elements are bad in bulbs, or the dimmer switch itself or could simply be the fuses to the low beam elements in the fuse panel. Often the high beam and low beam are on seperate fuse links. Ck the fuse boxes both inside and under the hood. hope it helps, TH,

Driver side head light does not work...the high beam does

Change the bulb. High and low beams are separate bulbs located in the headlight housing. Im not sure on the 07 but the earlier design Yukon (02)you have to pull out a pin located under the hood on the top of the light housing in order to remove it.

I have a 2006 GMC Denali. THe low beam on the driver's side is out. Hi Beam works fine. I suspect a bulb. How does one go about replacing a low beam bulb on the Denali? Thanks for your help! M...

Should be two metal rods that hold the headlight assembly in place unsnap the rods from the holders and lift the rods out and you should be able to pull the whole assembly out giving you access to the bulbs.
