There are adjuster screws above and to the side of the headlight unit . turn thes euntil the lights are aligned , to do this succesfully you will need a flat level surface to park on and a blank wall with the height marked for the headlight to be aimed at , this is not as easy as it sounds , i would suggest taking it to a repair shop as only takes a few minutes with the right equipment so will cost very little , if you want to do your self you will need a workshop manual to give you the required height and distance etc good luck

The xenon headlights on my 2002 Audi TT quattro are aiming down. Can only see about 10 feet in front at night. Recently had the headlight sensor replaced & was told that the headlights would adjust...

go back to were you had the sensor replaced and have them repair the problem this should have been working properly before it left the shop.it could even be a bad sensor.

2001 Oldmobile Aurora is having trouble starting. It also sputters a little while at idle. When driving and i barely touch the gas pedal the headlights will dim on occasion. I do not know much about cars...

You need a tune-up. I also own an Aurora. This is a great vehicle. Mine has 189,000 miles and all thats been done is spark plugs, alternator (which would explain the headlight dimming on yours, check if it's functioning) thermostat and harmonic balancer. If this was at all helpful, please rate. Thanks for asking.

My car crown victoria 2007 the headlights are on all the time night and day (without the auto )only they go off when i put it on the Parking mode

That is normal... (for safety in the daytime).

Notice that in the daytime, the HIGH BEAM lamps are lit, but they are "dim", not bright.

If you turn ON your headlights in the daytime, a different set of headlamps light up.

Hope this explains that....
Now you may notice "many" cars in the daytime with headlights on...

Detailed explaination on changing headlights on a 1999 mistsubish

Your headlights are just bulbs that need to be changed from under the hood. When you open the hood and look at the back side of the headlight you will see the wires sticking out. There is a black plastic ring that you will need to twist counter clockwise about 1/4 of a turn then pull. You will end up with this ring the socket and the old bulb in your hand at this point. If you look at your new bulb (don't handle by the glass!) and compare it to the old you will be able to see how the socket comes off by pulling. Reinstall in oppisite order and you will be fine.

Change headlight

Julie.... fairly easy to do. the bulbs are changed from inside the engine compartment. you should be able to see the connector going into the back of the bazel (headlight). generally the connect has a ring on it that you have to turn or you may have to turn the socket to remove the bulb. be careful NOT to touch the replacement bulb with your fingers as it will shorten the life of the bulb. unfortunately if the bulb is on the side that the battery is on you may have to remove it to gain access... if it is i'll explain that to you as well... not that hard to do either.

Robert

Please take a moment to rate this solution thanks (trying to get my average up as we are basically all volunteers)

Removal of Headlamp bulb?

The Xterra doesn't have stock xenon headlights, so are your lights aftermarket? If not, there is a retaining ring on the back of the headlight housing (under the hood) and you just turn the ring counter clockwise to detach and the the bulb comes right out. Installation is the reverse of removal.

HEAD LIGHTS

Hey Bunkyk:

Look in you owners manual and you will find clear instructions explaining how to remove the headlights. I used the owners manual which explained how to remove clips that are holding the headlights. I hope this answers your question.
