SRS systems use a yellow electrical connector plug. look for it under the dash for the drivers side it should be near the steering colume by the lower dash panel. disconnect it and the bag will not work however the SRS light will come on. you could find the module for the system and disconnect it. you could also try removing the fuse if it only controls the system. be aware that you could be legally breaking the law as your disconnecting a safety feature.

Try disconecting the baterry for 10 minutes then try again

Sometimes if you pull the positive terminal off your battery it will reset . I would check with the dealer all you need is to call the service department at your local Chevy Dealer.

Did you replace a battery, alternator or some other electrical part recently? If yes, then there is no problem with the air bag system. If no, then you need a code reader to help determine what part failed in the air bag system. It will reset by itself if it has a defective seat sensor and it is replaced with a new part or the wiring is replaced that goes to the same sensor. Try spraying some WD 40 into the seat belt buckle.

You need to have both reset with specific reset tools. Faults can be cleared w/ OBII reset tool but SRS has to be done by dealer or specialty shop because it's a safety issue and the tool is REALLY EXPENSIVE

Dear Friends, i have some problems in my lumina 2004. I need your;s help. 1. There was problem in the self starter during starting it was not getting start after 5, 6 times turn the key that was started. Afterwards i checked with electrician he correct the self. After correction now ""engine check'" message is coming on the display. How to remove the ""engine check message""??? 2. After starting the car one message is coming ""SRS FAULT"" Whats it meaning and how to reset??? 3. During insert the key and turn to start the car, the key is not going to move. Impossible to move the key whenever the inserting port around one ring which is made by plastic its came upside then the key move to start car when this plastic port downside the key impossible whats the solution.

The SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System, and it means theres a problem with the cars air bag. That is not something you want to try to diagnose or fix yourself. You can accidentally deploy the air bag, and if youe anywhere near it when it does, you can be very seriously injured. I would recommend taking the car to a good shop that has experience with air bags, to check the system. Good luck.
