Pretty much any "EJ" transmission will fit any "EJ" engine, the only problems are whether the clutch is a pull or push type release bearing? That will also make a difference how the clutch slave cylinder mounts up. If it isn't a turbo model trans, it will not take the HP that the engine puts out for very long. The Impreza STI manual trans will bolt up, but there will be some exhaust fitment issues where the down pipe bracket connects to the trans.
Now you are beginning to understand why (at least in the United States) it is illegal to fit an engine other than the same engine and calibration that the chassis was certified with.
hi check the exaust for smoke if its smoking a white or a blue smoke it means the motor is worn, but i would try changing the ignitor or ecu 1st as they send the ignition pulse telling the cylinders to spark, if either is stuffed that could cause your problem
Impreza torque settings MUST be done in the correct sequence, its critical when re building.
If you have a local garage who are friendly with, ask if they have autodata. If so they can print you a torque sequence and settings.
not sure here ,really need to have a drive and a play ,but from the sound of it ,turbo ?? rubber hoses split?? in fact anything associated with the turbo i would look at ,including air flow sensors
i have an 05 sti. its the same motor as the 09. you definitley want to use a high quality full synthetic oil 5w-30. check the level often because it is normal for this car to burn a little oil do to the turbo. especially if you start making performance mods.
