One cylinder on my Mercedes 280 SLC inline 6 DOHC no firing

check the injector is not blocked , the injector wiring is ok, the HT lead is ok and the plug is not shorting out. Check the distributor cap for cracks around that plug lead or if you have individual coils then replace that coil on the plug.

Fuel injector diagram

old post
no engine stated, ?? which one? 4AFE or 7Afe (TOY ENGINE)
the harness will not allow cross wiring injectors
how did you do that?
the #1 injector is on #1 cylinder
and on #1 fuel rail port.
the #1 cylinder on inline engines, the crank pulley end.
if you need wire colors, we can do that too.
or log in to mitchells DIY and read. that.
here is the 7aFE wires
B-O is 12vdc power key on, the ECU fires the 4 on right.

NO PULSE TO INJECTORS-FUSES ARE GOOD,REPLACED CAM SENSOR

If one injector is shorted out. it may shut down the injector drive circuit.
The pulse to injectors is a little incorrect: Low voltage power (because of a resistor pack inline) is present to injectors at all time with key on. The pulse is caused when the computer grounds the circuit to let the injector fire.
To test: pull off one injector connector. Ground a testlight and turn key on. One of the injectors' wires should have power. If not, take off all inj. connectors and re-test(in case of a shorted injector). If you have power on one wire, the drive circuit is good.
Now test the ground circuit: put the black lead of testlight on the positive post of battery, and probe the wire that did not light up. Have someone crank the car over. When cranking the testlight should be blinking, meaning the engine computer is properly grounding the circuit.
So, if you didn't get a steady light, it's a drive circuit problem. No blinking light means a problem in the computer not grounding the circuit.

I push on the gas and it pauses before it starts to accerlate - then its slow at first - once it gets going its fine

sounds like you have a miss fire. you need to replace your spark plugs and ht leads and also check the wiring to the ignition coil as one of the wires normally brakes

if this helps let me know

cheers

I have a 1996 jeep grand Cherokee with the 4.0 inline 6 and I have 48lbs of fuel pressure at the fuel rail and we used a pulse tester on the injectors and they showed that I have no power to them what...

You need to check with a test light now, and see if you have voltage at any of the two wire's going to the injector, if you do have voltage, reverse test light at battery and check other wire, that will be ground pulsation, if you have voltage and no ground, ground is control by the computer, computer will need to be replaced.

I have an 89 Jeep Wagoneer inline 6. Its not

You got the ignition cover, what you need to do an cylinder compression test and also check your injector for voltage while engine running hook test light to battery pos on neg and neg on pos, at injector harness check for pulsation, if you have pulsation elec. system ok, if good compression bad injector.if bad compression piston ring's or valve's.

I have a problem with my 1994 jeep wrangler se. It has an inline six, 4.0 high output motor. I did a partial tune up... Plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. It idles perfect but when I climb hills or step on...

Mate.If you have done what you said,I think it might be just a small engine timing problem. The plugs that are recommended are champion RC12LYC,gap 0.035 in, just make sure yours are compatible.and the gaps are correct. The only other thing it might be is a really dirty fuel filter or injector.Check the other things first.Hope this helps

2000 cherokee wont start

Timing The ignition system on your car has to work in perfect concert with the rest of the engine. The goal is to ignite the fuel at exactly the right time so that the expanding gases can do the maximum amount of work. If the ignition system fires at the wrong time, power will fall and gas consumption and emissions can increase.
When the fuel/air mixture in the cylinder burns, the temperature rises and the fuel is converted to exhaust gas. This transformation causes the pressure in the cylinder to increase dramatically and forces the piston down.the spark should occur before the piston reaches the top of the compression stroke, so by the time the piston starts down into its power stroke the pressures are high enough to start producing useful work.
