SOURCE: 2003 GMC Sierra heater Blower wont shut off

My 2003 Sierra's blower came on by itself in the garage while I was sleeping and ran the battery completely down. I had to replace the blower switch located under the glove box next to the blower at the bottom of the right corner of the dash. The switch is in front of the blower and held in by two screws. Disconnect the two wire connections. This is a "dealer only" part and cost me 65.00. Also check the wire harness with seven wires connected to it for melted plastic. It will be marked "ABCDEFG". If it has melted, you'll need to replace it. Pay attention when reinstalling either part, that the wires "ABCDEFG" match the switch in that order.

SOURCE: 1997 GMC Sierra Ignition Switch Replacement

take off the cover on the top and bottom of the steering column just behind the wheel. pop the tilt lever out simply just by grabbing it and give it a good tug. then once you have the new switch and you get in there your going to need an inverted torx socket to remove the small bolts that hold the switch to the column. do not move the gear on the new switch make sure it lines up exactly as the old one did!!!!!!!!!!!!

Air condition is cold but the fan is not blowing air on a 1997 gmc 1500 truck checked the fuses in truck..

the first thing i would check is the relay for the blower motor. if the relay is operating properly the blower motor or the resister may have failed. on your vehicle the blower motor and the resister are a single assembly. its behind the glove box, fairly easy to replace.

Clicking sound from the dash from behind the blower motor in the vent on 94 GMC Sierra

I see this problem is listed as a 2000 GMC 1500, yet you discribe the problem as on a 1994 GMC. The two trucks are very different, if it's a '94, them there are relays mounted on the passengers side firewall under a plastic shield, these will make clicking noises. If it's a 2000, the most common cause for that type of noise is the heat shields on the exhaust manifolds . If the noise is only present after [and sometimes while ] the motor is running, that's the most likley the problem.

1996 GMC Sierra Heater blower motor only works on high speed. How do you change resistor?

The blower motor resistor is located within a foot of the blower motor in the duct that the blower motor blows into. The resistor is actually cooled off by the blower motor blowing across it. It has a wire harness that connects it to motor & fan switch. It is held in place by 2-4 retaining screws. Disconnect wire harness, unscrew retaining screws then lift out. Reverse order to install.

How doi locate the resistor for a blower motor on a 1997 gmc sierra 1500

Hi!!
Check under dash, passenger side, if necessary, remove cover to access Blower Housing Assy., the harness has two terminals, one for the Blower Motor and one for the Blower Motor RESISTOR which is fastened by two 7 or 8 mm. screws to the Housing.
Here is a picture of the Blower Housing Assy. showing the Resistor.

How do u get the fan off the motor on my 1997 gmc sierra 4x4

You will need the fan removing tools. I think the manufactures keep making it harder for the do-it-yourselfers. You should be able to buy them at almost any parts store or some will even rent them to you. Either way life will be easier for you with the fan tools. Also I assume you are talking about the fan on the engine and not the fan on the blower motor... however just in case you mean the fan on the blower motor dont try to remove it. Its pressed on and usually breaks trying to take off, just get a motor with a fan already on it! Which ever fan you are trying to remove I hope this helps! Good luck!
