Yes, I experienced the same thing with mine... you have to losen the 2 motor mounts on that side and lift the motor up about 3 ". I worked at a garage so I had access to an engine hoist. Try using a jack from underneath. Nice engineering from Mazda!!!

Mazda 626 1999 with electrical problems. Replaced alternator, battery checked out, electrical quits while driving.

When you say everything goes dead are we talking all lights, radio, wipers? If so, main power or ground cables bad or fusible link. If just engine, check coil, ignition module, crank/cam position sensor.

I have a 1999 Mazda 626 4cyl I have replaced the battery and had the starter check it will crank but not start i have even sprayed starter fluid in the injection system and it still just cranks.. please...

okay, good testing, your next step is to check for spark, remove a sparkplug wire and insert a screwdriver into the boot and place near a metal object like the engine and see if it sparks. let me know if you are getting spark and we will go from there. good day.

1999 mazda 626, 4cyl. Car will not restart after running. If the car sits for several minutes (~15-30) the car will restart and run fine.

Sounds like a possible starter problem if the starter will not turnover the car's engine when hot. Change the starter.

1999 mazda 626 4cyl runs rough at idle , engine dies at idle. check engine light on fault code 171 looked for vacum leak none found. replaced MAF sessor no help. any ideas

You may have to dig deeper for a vacuum leak. It's possibly the intake manifold gasket. Try spraying some starting fluid around the intake manifold. Also try disconnecting the brake booster and plugging that hose, the diaphram in the booster could be ruptured, causing a vacuum leak. Check the PCV valve and hose too.
