GMC Acadia Power Lift Gate Not Working

2008 Acadia. Powered Lift Gate (PLG) not operating. PLG fuse is good. Struts are good. With dash switch in Off to allow manual operation the latching mechanism makes a lot of noise, but the motor does nothing. Any way to check if issue is with relay, latch mechanism, or lift motor?

Will require a scan tool to check for codes, make sure latch is working well, make sure release switch is getting signal. Most common concern is the latch itself though

{: ) Liftgate Access Plug is located at the bottom center area of the liftgate trim panel.
From inside the vehicle lower the second and third, if applicable, row seats.
Use a small flat-bladed tool to remove the access plug from the liftgate lower interior trim panel. It is like a round and smooth plastic grommet.
Push on a silver lever located on the right just through the access hole to unlock the liftgate.
Open the liftgate from the outside of the vehicle using the exterior handle.

My 2008 equinox tail gate will not open, checked fuse, replaced battery in remote, disconnectedbattery and re-connected, flipped the interior switch in lift gate to open but still not working

check the circuit board to the signal receiver. if that fried then you gotta replace it because its not sending the signal. Or check the circuit line make sure its getting power to the gate. Going have to open a lot of stuff to get to them wires.

I have a chevy traverse 2009. The power tailgate wont stay up on the strut. it was working fine the day before. the gate opens to the fully open position before slipping resulting in the gate closing

It's now a recall item. See below.

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 15V415000
Component: STRUCTURE:BODY:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE
Manufacturer: General Motors LLC
Potential Number of Units Affected: 686287

Year: 2009
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Traverse
Manufactured
from: 2008-07-06
to: 2012-02-29
Recall Date: 2015-06-30
-->
Summary:

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured January 3, 2007, to February 29, 2012, 2009-2012 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured July 6, 2008, to February 29, 2012, 2007-2012 GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured September 15, 2006, to February 29, 2012, and 2007-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles manufactured August 17, 2006, to March 18, 2010. The affected vehicles, equipped with the power liftgate option, have gas struts that hold the power liftgate up when open. These struts may prematurely wear and the open liftgate may suddenly fall.

If the open liftgate unexpectedly falls, it may strike a person, increasing their risk of injury.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the software for the power liftgate actuator motor control unit so that the motor will prevent the rapid closing of the lift gate, free of charge. Owners were mailed interim notices on August 3, 2015. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, and Saturn customer service at 1-800-553-6000. GM's number for this recall is 15240.
