LIGHT SYMBOL THAT I DO NOT KNOW. it is like bright ball with thorns stick around the ball and an i inside the ball. Like hellraiser...LOL
It is the defective bulb warning light. It is a warning that a bulb has failed and needs to be replaced.There is a similar symbol that is an automatic transmission warning light but from your description I believe it is the bulb warning light. Hope this helps.

hi, i have a 318i on a 98, that light came on on mine a while ago,its a brake pad warning light, tells you they're getting low, however, the light was orange, not red. hope this helps..
