    when I ran the scaner it said bank2 sensor 1

    there are no free manuals like this, what sensor number and position do u need to replace, better yest what is the code and i will tell u where the sensor is located in the exhaust system..

You don't need the manual just follow the exhaust manifold down pipe until you see a lug sticking off it with 1,2,3 or 4 wires coming out of the end, this is your o2 sensor then there could be another one behind the catalytic converter this is the second one and may not be there on your car. hope this has been of help. Check engine light on a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer came on.

Only replace the two before tha catalytic converter the post converter O2 sensors just tell the conputer the converter is OK. Go to rockauto.com to order the sensors or to Napa.
