I have a 1987 Nissan 300ZX and for some reason, the ECU fuse continues to blow a fuse. Took car to a shop for a repair and what I saw was they by-passed the fuse and jumped the ecu and fuel-pump relay. it worked for a while but the problem has returned. Can anyone help?

SOURCE: I need to find the ECU relay for an 86 NISSAN 300zx.

The ECU is probably under the passenger seat. The battery also has a fusible link which may be blown. Also follow the battery wiring to the regulator box. This may also be faulty.

SOURCE: 1994 nissan pathfinder....no fuel from

Gave you a picture below of part of the wiring diagram to the fuse panel and it has the wire colors as well. I could only give you that much because I can't post any pictures to large (size wise in computer size) so thats the best i could do for right now. It does look as if there may be a fuseable link in 2 places maybe more but i just took a quick look. If you need anymore digrams you can email me at [email protected] with detailed info so I can send you the correct stuff. I doubt it's the ignition switch myself. i think you are looking at a wiring problem and i've only been doing this or 25+ years. Bet your kicking yourself for spending the money on the ECU. Sorry had to throw that in. Anyway i hope this helps you and good luck and feel free to write if needed.

If bubba is fixing your car, go somewhere else. Bypassing the fuse box as you found out just gets you more problems. I recommend going to the dealer and have a qualified mechanic look at it. It well worth the small increase in cost verses get help from bubba for a stick of gum and a hit off the jug of moonshine for help.......

My 1987 Nissan 300ZX has an issue where the dash warning lights come on when accelerating and somtimes flicker on idle. I see someone asked the same questsion but I saw no response. Thanks.

Hi,
The potential causes of this behavior are multiple.

You will need to bring this car to a mechanic to have the error codes read from the ECU. Any errors stored will immediately point to the cause of the warning lights illuminating on the dash.
Autozone will perform a scan for free - however because your Nissan is a 1987 there are different methods of retrieving codes from these earlier cars which use a much older style of error recording. You will need to check with them first if they have this equipment.
A Nissan dealer of course will be able to do this for you without any trouble. One way to save some money on this is to have the dealer do the diagnostic scan then once the cause is pointed out have the work carried out by an independent mechanic or do it yourself.
Hope this helps. Please do leave a vote for the solution. Many thanks.

1987 nissan 300zx electrical problem

I have learned that my 87 Z's electrical issues are par for the course with this model. Having the mess of electrical diagnosed is pricey, and often without result. One problem I fixed with the help of an Ebayer selling my same car...the many routes for water to get in often short things out. His had the same issue as mine, in that the rear brake lights provide an avenue for water. It took me several fixes to get it right. Hatch and t-tops also allow moisture to collect in rear well/tool storage, and corode things on the way. I still find shorts that drain my battery, it's an ongoing project, but I love a challenge!
hope this helps

No power 2 fuel pump

I would check for a blown fuse there should be one just for the fuel pump. If the fuse is good I would look for a bad or lose wire.
