2006 Dodge Caravan - ONE power door lock stopped working

Van has power door locks and ONE of the sliding doors suddenly will not lock or unlock with the switch or remote. It will only work manually. This is NOT a power sliding door - only the lock is power. Thank you for any suggestions as to how to repair.

I have replaced many sliding door lock actuators on these vehicles..dealer part..mostly on passenger side sliding door..also possible you have a broken wire in door track harness..follow wiring from door into what looks like a plastic chain in door track at door opening

Actually this sounds like the actuator inside the door is to blame.  Basically a small motor/gearbox assembly tied to the door lock mechanism.  I had one die under warranty.  Same symptoms you described.  The dealership changed it, charging 0.2 hours of labor against the warranty.  Basically, remove the inside trim panel from the door, unbolt/disconnect the old actuator, and install the replacement.

First, keep in mind that as you begin to remove these doors you run the risk of causing serious scratches to the paint and glass, so put some masking tape and/or plastic sheeting around both sides of the door (rear quarter panel and rear glass, front door and front door glass)
I would get a Haynes repair guide since that's what I have to work from and it will tell you step by step with pictures, what to do. It's not hard, but you need to get all of the attach points unhooked to be successful. Suggest you have a helper working with you to keep the door steady.

Why has the key on passenger side door suddenly stopped activating the lock on my 1999 Dodge Van Caravan? It functions well with the automatic all-locks' feature.

As you rotate the lock cylinder on that door it touches a switch that unlocks the rest of the doors. Check the condition of that switch.

How to disengage the saftey on 06' dodge caravan sxt power sliding door?

disengage the saftey Anon, I believe it is done on the overhead console or if you mean the child prevention lock, it is a small switch by the doors latching assembly. Links below give instruction.

Dodge caravan sliding passenger door will not repond

There are contacts in the door jam, first check and clean these contacts. If they seem fine, and you have a way to check for power on these, test and make sure they supply voltage with a volt/ohm meter. If you are getting power through the contacts, that only leaves the lock actuator itself as being faulty.

I have a 2006 dodge caravan sxt. The pasenger power sliding door is not working. First we noticed that the power lock was not unlocking this door but if we manually unlocked it the power opener would work....

yes the door control module could be your problem or it could be you actuator and door motor, these rarely go bad at the same time, but it does happen, start with the door control module, you can usually get these at the junk yard for a reasonable price, hope this helps.

Power locks stop working on sliding doors

If neither the lock or unlock works, first check the power lock fuse(s). If the fuses are good, then have the relay tested. You can call your dealer to find out where these components are located on your specific vehicle.
