My 2001 Subaru outback's security light is blinking when it is turned off. When it is on it doesn't blink. We do not have a remote, just a key. How do we turn the light off. It also won't start now unless we turn the key part way then push the cruise control button, then turn the key over.

SOURCE: 2004 Ford Freestar cruise control not working

Try pulling up the brake pedal with your foot,Sometimes your brake doesnt come back all the way,and the brake switch keeps the cruise from working. Also, check the fuse.If those answers dont help,It could be the swith itself is bad. Those can be bought at a parts store.

2005 subaru outback immobilizer reset? Alarm was set with door being unlocked with key, immobilizer shut off all power. How can this be reset?

This could be a few things. If the security system was enabled and you just unlocked the door with a key and not using the remote, then all you have to do is put the key in the ignition and turn on/off three times. That's it!

Some cars have immobilizer keys. The immobilizer prevents unauthorized keys from starting the car (yours may or may not have it, depending on the exact Outback model).

Look here for the different styles of immobilizer keys:

2009 Subaru Outback front and back marker lights will not shut off. Security light is flashing... Help?

Hello, Ok, first... If you can still lock and unlock the car with your remote normally, the security system is working normally, when the car is off and the key is out of the ignition, door open, closed, locked, or unlocked, that security light will blink every 3 seconds or so. Second, look on top the steering column cover to find a small rocker switch, that is your park lamp override switch that allows you to turn on your park lamps with the key off because Subaru's cut all accessory light power once the key is off, they just wanted you to have that choice. This is most likely your problem, I hope this info helps...(subyguru)...

I think you have to have the key in the ignition, and set to "ON" with the driver door open and holding the unlock button down for several seconds. At least that works on my Forester.
