I have a renault megane sports 1998 16 engine. car starts on first pull but after driving for around 15 mins car stalls when i slow down or stop.this continues on and off. called out rac, did diagnostic test. no faults found but is still playing up. what do you suggest. Fed up lady driver

the socket is located under the centre console. slde the console back. there is a plastic panel there. pull it towards the windscreen to remove it. if the car is petrol it sonds like an ignition coil. if its a diesel it could be an injector. both easily fixed

I had same Problem with 03 Megane about 6 weeks ago
and the fault on mine was the one of the Coils had gone.
got replaced £270.00 later working fine....

just happened again with same message Check Injection.
RAC told me injection has gone, so now yet again back in the garage.. How i wish i never brought a Megane

this exact problem on a megane coupe is caused by a small air pipe that connects to a 2 inch wide black box that is located under the bonnet near the windscreen on the passangers side. the zigzag light indicates an electrical fault (in this case lack of compression and will affect your revs) if you find this pipe and it has snapped off. the reason for this may be that your engien is lose and moves. grab the engien with 2 hands and see if you can wobble it with allot of play. if so your engien mountings need replaceing. you may also experiance juddering in low gears
