SOURCE: no spark/wont start

i have a 98 and it has a distributor but it could be a fuel issue more than a spark if you have a fuel pressure gauge and check it.should be above 30 psi to me it sounds like a fuel pump thats bad

SOURCE: Having trouble keeping my 98 jeep grand cherokee running

i recommend cleaning the throttle plates. they are located unter the intake hose form the engine to the air filter housing. if you open them with the engine not runniong you will see they will be covered in carbon. use a good carb cleaner and a rag to wipe them clean

My 1998 Volkswagen Beetle keeps dying.

With the car running rough it could cause the harsh shift but if it is staying at 5000 rpms then the ****** is about to go out on you. The rough idle sounds like a vacuum leak. If you can keep the car running at idle listen for a sucking type sound. That would indicate where the vacuum leak is.

2003 jeep grandcherokee

It seems that you may have a wiring problem. When you put the car in reverse the engine will twist counterclockwise and could be pulling on a harness.
Start the car and move or jiggle harnesses under the hood and see if the Jeep acts funny. If the Jeep hiccups while moving a harness, you've narrowed down the area where the problem is.
