First remove head and fix the bent valves. I have worked at a Daewoo dealer. People would buy the belt and come right back to get valves and gaskets. Daewoo timing belts must be replaced every 60,000 miles.

Which timing belt is the right one for a 1998 Daewo Lanos SX 1598cc?How many teeth should it have?

You should be able to count the teeth on the old belt....Pull a string around the outside of all the appropriate pulleys to get the Length measurement.........

Honda 2001 crv bad timming belt didnt break but lost few teeth skip timming is it worth saving please help!

Well it is an interference engine which means if the belt breaks the pistons could damage the valves.
If it only jumped a couple of teeth it may not have damaged anything.
I would put a new belt on and check compression.

Where is the crankshaft sensor location on lanos 2001 ? I changed my camshaft position sensor and the timing belt, but the engine light still on with the same code and the mechanic said it's the...

both the single cam and twin cam engines use the teeth on the crank pulley for crankshaft sensor which is bolted in bracket attached to block near oil pressure switch, hopefully you didnt dent(bent) teeth on crank pulley from dropping it or putting pulley down a bit roughly because they bend really eazy.
also is the crank pulley bolted up in correct position?
is the timming belt tension correct from when you did cam belt?
if tension wrong or timming out by a tooth it will set crank sensor codes, even possibly cam sensor codes and if you get timming out more than 3 teeth either way(advanced or ********) you will bend valves.

How to replace a broken timing belt for a 1998 daewoo lanos?? Would there be any head damage?

yes it is quite possible that valves are bent if the cam belt broke or teeth stripped off of old belt, which unfortuneately means removing the cylinder head and getting it repaired (valves replaced and possibly guides) see some of my other posts for cam belt timming marks locations etc...
depending what motor is in your vehicle twin cam or single?

stevenhurc_14.jpg and if its twin cam you usually need cam locking tool for cam gears.

Daewoo lanos 1.5l timing belt marks

Answer

If this is a single overhead cam, possibly A15SMS (engine type):

If you have everything stripped down and can see the crank shaft gear, you will notice an arrow stamped into one of the gear teeth.
this arrow must point towards the bottom, you will notice a mark (notch) cut into the housing, line the arrow on the gear with this notch.

remove the four 10mm bolts that secure the top cover of the timing belt, gently open the cover (not removing it) to see the Cam Gear. You will not be able to remove the cover because of the design.

The Cam Gear should have a line stamped into one of its teeth, this should be pointing up and towards the top. On the inner cover you will notice a notch in the casing, line both up together if it is not already.

You can check the following if unsure:
Remove # 1 spark plug (nearest the Cam Belt) and place a long screwdriver in the hole carefully to feel the piston is at the top, #2 and 3 will be down and the last one #4 at the distributor end will also be up.

Remove the rocker cover and you should see the Cam loabes on #1 piston free, (no pressure on the cam shaft) meaning the valves are closed.

hi, just letting you know my timing belt just went on my daewoo lanos. unfortunately it seems in a daewoo lanos that when the timing belt goes, it can do damage to one of the valves. mine is in at the mechanics and i am still hoping that it hasnt done any damage. i was also told that if you have replaced the timing belt and the car still wont start it has definitely done damage to a valve. sorry to give you the bad news!!

Daewoo lanos sx r reg

if there is just one single belt on your vehicle it's called a serpentine belt. If there is more than one on the engine, they are just called fan belts. There is also probably a timing belt that is not actually visible without removing the timing cover on your vehicle also.
