Sounds like you have a transmission problem. Check your fluid level and condition. I suspect you're low on ATF..

Hi there. Sounds like you either need to clean the throttle body.If code still comes back on you need to replace the IAC valve. It on the throttle body and controls the idle and air control to the motor.Hope this helps you.Have a great day...

SOURCE: 2001 LINCOLN LS V6 - ROUGH IDLE / SOMETIMES STALLING.

Very common problem is about a dime size hole wearing in the rubber elbow on the PCV valve located on the driver side rear of the intake manifold.

SOURCE: i have a 2000 lincoln ls the problem that im

E=error, the gear indicator has lost a signal from the transmission as to what gear it is in.
when you cycle the key and its ok,means it is a soft code and not a hard code.you need to have it checked on a computer before you cycle the key,

What's your problem?I have a 2000 Lincoln LS that runs great when driving but as soon as I stop and sit a minute it cuts off. I have noticed the car start stalling a little before it cuts off. Cou

Generally speaking, the common reasons for stalling are a faulty idle air control valve or a dirty throttle body.
The computer controls idle speed by how much air is allowed into the intake thru the throttle body.
Those two issues would be checked first.
Is the check engine light on when the engine is running ?

I have 03 lincoln ls v8 I changed the fuel filter because my idle was not letting me pass 40mph but that didnt solve it but it was very clogged. When the car is in park it doesnt idle but when im driving...

The fuel filter, clogged or not, will not have any
effect on determining the idle

I don't get the idle to 40mph senerio?
What does idle have to do with driving?
When your driving your above an idle!!

Disconnecting the battery, won't reset anything,
other than OBD2 MIL Lamp on the dash (Wrench)
or (Engine)

I believe there is a good possibility you have a clogged
exhaust converter or two,and should have PO 420 or
similar codes
That will be an expensive repair, and should not be
necessary ,until your car is over 12 years old

So you have other issues that caused it to melt down
inside, blocking the exhaust, and limiting you to 40 mph

The other issues have to be repaired first

On an LS, you get a couple of ignition coils go
bad a year. If you don't get them and continue to
drive for years with a misfire, you get what you have

LINCOLN LS 2000 O2 SENSOR

vibration is not likely to be an O2 sensor

rarely will I ever see an failed O2 cause anything but bad gas milage and a check engine light

More likely would be bad spark plugs/wires and/or maintenance items like a fuel filter

Miss at idle or below 1000 rpm. Checked compression, plugs coil pac fuel inj, put on dia machine show,s # 7 miss ?. no vac leaks. No one con figuer it out! Computer ?

It sounds like you have a collapsed lifter, a burnt valve or a bent push rod. The BEST solution is to recondition the heads and replace the cam & lifters. This will insure that any of the failing components are replaced and it will reseat you valves, valve guides and valve seals. And most of all you'll get better gas milage and better preformance. If your mechanically minded you can do this yourself with a repair manual.
