CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE WITH TRUCK IDLING.SHOULD BE 13.5 - 14.5 VOLTS. IF NOT ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING BATTERY.IF ALTERNATOR NOT WORKING TO KEEP BATTERY CHARGE.THE TRUCK WONT RUN RIGHT.YOU PCM,CANT FUNCTION AND CONTROL ALL THE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEMS.YOUR FUEL SYSTEM , SPARK SYSTEM NOT GOING TO WORK IF BATTERY DONT HAVE POWER AND ALTERNATOR NOT WORKING. CHECK ALTERNATOR POWER FEED WIRE AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR WIRES AND CHECK ALTERNATOR FUSE.MAKE SURE ALTERNATOR GETTING GOOD 12.6 VOLTS FROM BATTERY.MAKE SURE BATTERY FEED WIRE NOT BROKEN.
Check all of your battery connections and make sure the terminals are cleaned. Make sure the wires are connected good. If this checks out, you may have a bad alternator. Try this test. You need your battery full charged. Start the car and unplug the the battery. Make sure it is just the hot side(red). If the car dies instantly, your alternator is bad. If it stays on, your battery is not getting a good connection. If you need anything else, let me know. I am here to help.
crank sensor will cause similar stalling issues. You may have got a bad alternator, if the battery light is on after you jump it, probably needs a new, new alternator. make sure all your connections are tight and plugged in, both on battery and alternator.
You may have received a faulty alternator from the store. I have bought alternators from AutoZone before and in one instance had to take it back 3 times before I got one that worked correctly.
Also, you should not have jumped the car, you should have started it up on battery and alternator. That would have told you if the battery was drained or the alternator you had just put in was bad. If you put the drained battery back in the car to run it, the car would have died anyway. Whenever I have changed an alternator out I always let it run in the driveway for awhile to make sure that both the battery and alternator are functioning correctly.
The instructions for installing a new alternator usually read to fully charge the battery (12.3 - 12.8 volt range). Otherwise, the alternator will be damaged when it initializes. I have seen some extreme damage result from installing a new alternator with a low-charge battery. The torque required to turn an alternator when damaged in this scenario is unbelieveable!
SOUND LIKE IT MIGHT BE DODGY ALTERNATOR YOU CAN BUY A ALTERNATOR TESTER FROM HALFORD. AND CHECK ALL CONNETION FOR WERE PARTICALLY THE BATTERY CONNECTION
