Cigarette lighter in front and back will not operate

Tried to use my GPS in the lighter. No luck. Cannot figure out which fuse should be checked? The book is not very clear on which fuse controls the lighters? It is a 2006 Buick Rendevous.

Fuse 32 under the hood it is a 20amp fuse

I'm so glad I decided to google how to do this. I went to a local franchise auto parts store and they told me they couldn't put the fuse in for me. I told them that I couldn't locate the correct one from the owner's manual and they didn't even try to look it up for me. Thank God for google and everyone up here! I fixed my problem this morning before I went to work. Took all of 3 mins to do!

Have you checked the fuses? make sure there is no small object in the lighter

How can I change the cigarette lighter fuse in Toyota Avalon 2005?

Changing the fuse in the fuse box wont solve your problem On the back of the socket that is mounted in the dash that the lighter pushes into has a inline fuse that if over heated will blow. You will have to change the lighter. Toyota wanted close to $70 for a replacement lighter for my Tacoma. I never used the cigarette lighter for cigarett but needed to charge my cell phone so I replaced it with a dash Mount 12 Volt Power Socket for $10. Good luck.

Cigarette lighter socket came out, no charging

You probably pulled the wiring plug off the back of the socket. Or the fuse went when the socket came out.

2003 pontiac grand am cigarette lighter doesn't work

The fuse panel is in the convenience center (black box under the hood on drivers side). Unscrew the cover. There is a fuse map under the cover. The cigarette fuse is a yellow 20amp mini blade type.

sometimes they separate those because one is a higher amp circuit (power outlet) versus a cigarette lighter, so check your fuses

there is another fuse box under the hood in front of the battery. it will be a small 10 or 15 amp fuse change it and all will work again. if that is not the problem then check behind the glove compartment there will be another fuse box.
