Did you try looking through the fuse panels or relays?

Faulty Knock Sensor------Problem is the Crank Shaft has repositioned itself or the Timing Belt has repositioned itself... To resolve: Nissan mech-a-neck had to replace my Timing Belt located inside Engine Wall and reset TDC. 1150.00 is what I paid dealer. I feel like a fool. Earl, Decatur,GA

Canshaft the sensor is inside the distributor. That does not allow maintenance. replace the distributor.

Have not start 97 pathfinder for one month now cranks strong no start

Many, many variables. In order for the engine to run, you need air, fuel, compression, and spark. If one or more are missing or insufficient...engine won't run. First, make sure you have gas in the tank. Then, (if you're mechanically inclined), try pulling a spark plug, attaching its plug wire to it, placing the threaded end against a known good "ground", and have an assistant crank the engine for several seconds. Observe the plug and look for a spark jumping between the center electrode and the threaded body of the plug. If present, you likely have a fuel mixture or compression problem. Good luck.

Cranks wont start let it cool for a while then it starts

Have you checked to see if you are lacking spark to the plugs or fuel pressure when the engine fails to start ?

Let me also say that on my 97 pathfinder it ran good up until i replaced the water pump. then it wouldnt start. so i changed the spark plug wires and plugs. same thing...wants to start just wont fire up....

My first thought was the timing belt was not in time since you have to remove the belt to get to the pump.
The crank sensor is near the flywheel so it should not have been touched.
But timing should not affect the spark coming out of the coil.
It could be a problem with the resistor for the coil or something with the computer.
Did you also replace the cap and rotor when you changed the distributor ? Is the spark weak coming out of the coil ?
You may have to get a used shop manual from Ebay to get the test procedures and wiring diagram for the ignition system.

98 nissan pathfinder 3.0 wont start new distribitor no fire

What do you mean "the battery still no fire"?

Do you mean that there is no spark at the spark plug?
Have you pulled out a plug, grounded it and cranked the engine to check to see what colour (if any) the spark is?
If there is no spark at the plug, then either change the plugs if they look to be in very poor condition, or change the coil.

Working on a 97 nissan pathfinder would start but very rough idle and would not rev up. changed plugs cap and rotor now wont start at all? any help would be great

most likely coil insulation has failed.most commonly occurs in tower area.remove cap, crank engine and watch where spark arcs to .if it comes out anywhere but the outlet portion of the tower or you dont see any at all...the coil has a failure.bad news is you have toget the whole distributor assy.coil not serviced separately.

Nissan pathfinder wont start. fuel pump checks out at 51 psi and spark plugs wet with gas

Try drying out the spark plugs. If the car starts after that, then you might have a leaky fuel injector. In my opinion, I think they're wet only because you probably were cranking it alot trying to start the car. I would change out the CAS (crank angle sensor) and see if she runs, as the majority of "not starting" cars I worked on was due to this. Hope this helped!

1987 nissan pathfinder wont crank or anything

FIRST TRY TO SEE IF THE FUSE AND RELAY ARE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. IF THEY CHECK OUT THEN CHECK FOR SPARK AT EACH ONE OF THE SPARK PLUGS. IF YOU ARE GETTING SPARK THEN I WOULD REPLACE THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. THIS DEVICE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OPENING INJECTORS AND SPARK PULSE THROUGH THE COMPUTER. HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. BEST OF LUCK
