I HAVE A 2000 NISSAN NISSAN MAXIMA WITH ONLY 50 THOUSAND MILES ON IT.THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON.THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING BUT IT IS NOT THE TRANSMISSION.I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED THE CYLINOIDS AND THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM.WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF,AND START IT UP AGAIN,SOMETHING RESETS,AND THE CAR SHIFTS FINE.
If you havent already try to change the transmission filter.Sometimes when the filter gets dirty fluid pressure is comprimised and certain pumps and solenoids which control shifting inside the transmission function off of the fluid pressure,
I changed the Revolution Sensor on the driver sside of the tranny- seemed to help a bit but, around town driving normally ,shifts are pretty good, but when you nail the gas pedal ,RPM's go High up but the transmission has very long/delayed shifts almost feels like its going into Neutral/same happens on the highway ,when I kickdown the gas hard ,the RPM's race up to Redline but then stays there and Again Very Delayed shifts - No Clue/think I;ll have Nissan Service do a Transmisson Sensor and TCM diagnostic to see if its a Sensor problem or an actual internal tranny problem ???
Did you figure out what the exact problem was and how to fix it? My car is doing the exact same thing. I need help. Let me know. thanks
My car is stuck in 3rd gear and won't up or down shift says P0755 shift solenoid "b" malfunction does anyone know where exactly the solenoids are located at on a Nissan maxima 2000 and how hard it is to get to them? Should I change my transmission fluid and filter first ?

Hello,
From what you have described it sounds like the transmission control solenoid pack is hanging up and needs to be replaced.
When you shut the car off it resets the position of the soleniod allowing it to work for a while before it gets hung up again.
Overtime turning it off and back on again won't anymore.
Are you sure the solenoids were new and installed correctly?
Sometimes the replacments you buy are of a worse quality. Their probably is another issue causing your soleniods to wear faster than they are supposed to and when you install inferior quality replacments they may just wear out quicker. I'm not saying this your problem just an idea.
If you haven't changed the fluid and filter in a while then that definetly would be the next thing I would do before anything else.
You can check your fluid to see if its dark and smells burned or if its clean and lighter colored.
I really hope this gets you headed in the right direction and good luck.
If you feel I've helped in any way please give me a fixya rating,
