99 HYUNDAI SONATA 2.5 V6, CAR CONTINOUSLY REVS UP, WE BELIEVE IT'S THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME KNOW WHERE IT IS LOCATED OR IF THERE IS ANOTHER REASON ITS BEHAVING LIKE THIS.
APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH.
Sme thing happened to me, but the advice is grim. I had to have the whole transmission replaced because of a bad torque converter...I would be sitting at a light and the car would just go all by itself, or as I was driving down the highway the tach. would go crazy and shut the car down into "safe" mode where it would not go out of first gear. Other times I would have to keep both feet on the brakes because the car would be pulling so hard! The dealership told me the crankshaft position sensor too, then a month later the car just shut down and would not start. Hope this helps.
When i turn the ignition on the engine start o,k the rpm drop to 1000 rpm is o,k,.. but when i acelerate the rpm stik on 3000 till it,s drop to 1000 rpm
I CHANGED THE COOLANT SENSOR AND IT SEEMED TO BE WORKING ALLRIGHT, I DID IT TODAY SO, THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS WILL LET ME KNOW IF IT'S OK.
APPRECIATE IT ANYWAYS.
