Horn fuse should be labeled on the fuse block. If it's not, easiest way to check is to just check them all. Use a test light and probe the back side of each fuse on both ends, till you find one that only has power on one side. Horn works with key off but I generally check with key on. Also, you have a horn relay (should be in the power distribution center (basically another larger fuse box, usually on the right fender under the hood. If all else fails, run a "hot" wire right to the horn & make sure it works. Horn "switch" is actualliy part of the signal mechanism and internal parts within the steering column...though these sometimes develop dead spots, it's least likely that it is the source of your problem.

1990 BMW Catalyst

Does the warning message go off after about 5 seconds? if so, that;s completely normal. it's just showing that the system is initializing. if it stays on, it's likely an issue with one of the temperature sensors on the catalytic converter. If you look under the car you should be able to see the O2 sensor in front of the CAT and a second sensor right after the CAT that looks like an O2 sensor, but is infact a temprerature sensor. This sensor monitors the temp of the CAT to make sure that it is working properly. The system is only on Japanese spec cars and you shouldn't need to worry about the message too much. The only problem you could have is that the cats are not heating up enough to work properly and you won't pass a smog inspection.

I have a 93 525i BMW and i keep getting a warning! Coolent level owners manual but its full with coolent, what else could it be?

On the 1990 model 525i (which should be similar), there is a float switch located at the bottom driver side of the radiator in the integrated overflow/fill tank just above the radiator drain. This float switch is what triggers the 'Low Coolant' indication on the dash. The electrical connector faces towards the rear of the radiator and has a rubber boot that protects it. To replace it, pull boot back, remove electrical connector, loosen and unscrew the retaining nut (accessible from underneath the car) and slide the old level switch out and install the new one in reverse.

Can't get to battery on 94 525i. I believe it is under the back seat but cannot remove the seat.

I found the owners manual and it says take it back to BMW!

Most other posts I found on the net say it is under the passengers side rear seat. But I guess that depends on if you have a right hand or left hand drive.
