I have a 1990 Cadillac Eldorado with no heat

I have recently discovered that there is no power going to the blower motor hence the "no heat" thing. It was tested at the connector going into the blower motor. Also all the other fuses light up with a tester in the fuse box except the blower motor one. The fuse does appear to be good. What should my next step be?

Thanks,
Jeff M.

Wil the blower come on If I need freon in my 1999 Cadillac Eldorado ??

NO! The Freon level doesn't affect blower motor. You just won't get cool air. Check the fuse or relay.

The intent of this bulletin is to provide technicians information regarding the proper installation of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Module blower motor (with impeller) assembly.

The current available HVAC Module blower motor for the above listed vehicles can be identified by the three mounting holes (1). The original equipment blower motor had five mounting holes.

In order to avoid confusion and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, when replacing an HVAC Module blower motor, refer to this bulletin for the appropriate procedure.

Eldorado/Seville-HVAC Blower Motor
Caution: Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition key must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the camshaft cover.

3. Remove the blower motor.

^ Disconnect connector from the blower motor.

^ Remove the blower motor screws (either 3 or 5 screws).

^ Remove the blower motor from the HVAC Module.

Installation Procedure
1. If present, remove the 2 ribs located on the barrier. Refer to Step 3 and the illustrations in the Instruction Sheet, P/N 52494110, found in the blower motor kit.

Important: Ensure the blower motor gasket makes a complete seal around the blower motor.

2. Install the new blower motor with heat shield. Refer to Steps 4 and 5 in the Instruction Sheet, P/N 52494110, found in the blower motor kit.

3. Install the blower motor retaining screws.

Tighten

Tighten the screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
4. Tighten the lower heat shield retaining screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

5. Connect the connector to the blower motor.

6. Install the camshaft cover.

7. Connect the negative battery cable.

1990 Cadillac Eldorado cabin fan not working fuse and relay changed out what is problem

Might be the Resistor pack located close to the blower. It has a flat connector with 4 or 5 wires, and two small screws holding in the duct. It may be a crispy critter. It happens... The blower moves air across it to keep it cool. The blower motor may be bad as well, or possibly the fan speed switch. May very well be the fuse for the blower as well. The blower connector may be loose. Let me know what you find.

1990 Cadillac Eldorado coupe

Sounds like you mean the " blower " is still operating with the ign key off. Probably a faulty BLOWER MODULE located under the R/R hood. It is a unit mounted on the A/C evaporator case against the firewall. Has 2 electrical connectors and 4 small mounting bolts. In order to confirm it being faulty, FIRST LOCATE MODULE, you note it malfunctioning, tap it, and if the blower turns off, BINGO. Hope this helps

Heater blower install for 1997 cadillac eldorado

The solution is more than likely a new blower motor. Replacing this blower motor is no small task. I am in the process of doing it, but there is so little wiggle room that I suspect that if a cadillac mechanic does this job, they will jack up the engine/transaxle to make room. The motor itself is not cheap either, a replacement Delco is well over $200. I will let you know if my new motor install works.
