2006 GMC sierra tire cupping changed ball joints new tire cupping what els could it be

Changed ball joinst, tire, had vehicle realigned.still same struts. less then 5K on truck after repair.vehicle drives fine does not pull left or right. no unusall audible sounds from front end. when noticed checked tire pressure, pressure was in normal range of pressure loss to enviromental weather conditions and amout of drive time and factory spec 5 psi loss.first assumption was that i had bad wheel bearing, but vehicle doesnt act like a wheel bearing that would be that bad to cause this. is it safe to say that the struts need to be replaced. cupping is on the outside edge of tire

SOURCE: I have 94 CHEVY

check if your shocks are leaking. Jack up the car and with the right wheel off the ground check it for play in the bearing if it is tight and not grinding it is good. I would try another alignment shop if you dont find anything. Oh by the way dont let the wife hit any more curbs. If it is hitting curbs it could get knocked out of alignment.

SOURCE: The shop I have my 2005 GMC 2500HD 4x4 Sierra at is saying that I need the ball joints replaced. That it's causing my rear tires to wear bad. Does this sound right? I just came off a long trip

Your shop is lying to you. They would cause front tire wear, but not rear.

I have excess tire wear mostly on left steer wearing the inside of the tire. this has happened to three sets of tires I also had an allignment done

Things that will tear the tires up in short order. Inner and outer tie rods, ball joints, struts/ upper ball joints( you have upper ball joints) Lower control arm bushings, bent frame, and a bad wheel bearing. Every one of these should have been caught by the alignment shop. If you replace the parts your self. Change them all. You already saved tons by doing it your self. Let me know. I will let you know how to align any vehicle by eye and test driving.

Front wheel shakes when turning sometime on my 01 gmc sierra

Give a check on your ball joints. If you jack up the truck where the front wheels are off the ground, put your hands on either side of the tire and try to move it, if it moves up/down, your ball joints are bad, if it moves side/side, your tie rod ends are bad.

I have a 1997 GMC Sierra. My front left(drivers side) tire wears horribly on the outside. (lookin at the tire from the front of the vehicle, the top leans out, and the bottom cuts in. The outside 6inches...

Align the truck, sound like the camber is out of adjustment the upper control arm is holding it out too much, or your lower ball joint is messed up and lets it tuck in. The tie rods on that truck have nothing to do with it. Ball joints are like 40 bucks each for a good one, and an alignment is like 50. Is this a 4wd truck? If you have torsion bars make sure they are not too tight, when you hit dips its gonna distort the tire to the ground.

There should be a big nut in the center of the wheel hub. You will have to remove atleast one of the ball joints if it's IFS.

Tie Rods?? Ball Joints??

at such low milage i seriously doubt that it is the tie rods unless you have a problem with the vehicle wandering down the road. with loose ball joints you would have a alignment problem as well and you would notice a cupping on the tires which you did not mention. I would start by looking at eithere the strut or strut mounts and or the shock and shock mounts for looseness or cracks. also make sure your tires are not over inflated this would cause the shock of the ruts to be amplified to the frame.
