sounds like the interlock between the brake and the shifter is out of sorts..just in case you dont want to mess with it, I would consider renting a car..enterprise will give you a good deal and most rentals arent that expensive if time is an issue..otherwise youre looking at ripping apart the shift console to bypass that safety switch and there is no guarantee you would still be able to use the car as other systems may defeat your ourpose..happy holidays..
Hi ,Check the light bulb, see if its seat in the seats properly 'for earth' and the light terminals for dirts ,grease,or corrosion.clean if needs to.I think its a Earth problems
being a 2002 it does have a body control module ,BCM and it needs a key pog or key remote system to turn it on and off ,you need to take your chassis number off to a dealer and get a new remote
your problem is totally keyless entry related.it means that the immobiliser box got wet or is corroded inside.open the box and clean out.look for broken tracks or loose connections.last option replace unit
dear friend-i believe your immobiliser went into sleep mode,as i have no idea if you have a high spec or normal unit,if you have a single button on your remote it is a high spec, this needs to be recoded,if it is two buttons press both buttons together and wait for the bleep, then it should be active.
If, when you switch the ignition on, you get a dash light on, the symbol is a car with a key overlaid, you have somehow activated the immobilser You could try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, this may reset the immobiliser, If this does not work you will have to contact a Hyundai dealer to get the immobiliser unlock code.
