Did you have a leak before? If so and thats the reason you replaced those parts, it could be leaking from another spot in the coolant system sometimes the system with leak from the weakest points then when you fix them the system will leak from the next weakest point due to the pressure in the system. I would try to spot the leak, your best bet is going to be to turn the car off, and wipe everything clean....start up the car and then watch for any changes in appearances for leaks and so forth. It can be tricky, but maybe you'll get lucky!

SOURCE: The engine light is comming on. Took it to

The "probable cause" is the "thermostat" is stuck open, not allowing the engine to reach operating temp (190-195f) . As for the sensors, obviously its working, but if its corroded, its leaking and needs to be replaced. Better hope the plug is ok or you will need to replace that also. Replace the thermostat. Stay away from autozone.

Need to locate the engine temperature sensor on my 1997 Pontiac Sunfire not the engine coolant temperature sensor

Some older models of cars had a coolant temperature switch; a two-wire device that was used to cycle the cooling fan, and an engine temperature sensor that was used by the ECM as part of the engine control loop. Newer cars (this one included) use the coolant temperature sensor for both purposes. There is only the one sensor serving both purposes.

1997 pontiac sunfire, i have a 2 pin connector loose, but i dont know where it goes. it is on the passenger side close to headlight, all lights work. it is a black and yellow wire taped in the harness...

There is a yellow and black wire in the wiring diagram that is for the low coolant sensor in the overflow tank.
Your model may not use this sensor.

Coolant light comon 1997 sun fire

First, check your coolant over flow container,if real low, then you have a leak somewhere,if okay and it's not running hot, then your coolant temperature switch is bad.

My 1997 pontiac sunfire is overheating. There is

there is a steel pipe that runs across the motor there, they are prone to corroding and leaking, you might get away with cutting it and bridging with a piece of hose but the best bet is to replace it. We have been lucky a couple of times and found a car in the wreckers that had newish ones fitted.

Low coolant light is on with full radiator

Check the coolant top up reservoir. Low coolant sensor is usually in the overflow/reserve container.
Wash out and clean any dirt or corrosion from the sensor prong.
Refill to correct level with fresh coolant, then recheck alarm operation.
