"Change oil soon" light

On a 2005 Buick century, I cannot figure out how to turn off or reset the "Change oil soon" light.

Any ideas???

    Unfortunately, I bought this car used so I've never had my hands on an owner's manual.

Turn your key to the on position wait until all of your indicater lamps do their thing . Then pump the gas pedal 3 times in rapid motion in less than 5 seconds. Wait until you see the change oil light start flashing. If this does not happen then turn the key off turn it on again and repeat the procedure.

This work at 2001, but you could try it:
To reset the "CHANGE OIL" light, turn the ignition switch to the run position with the engine off. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal three times within 5 seconds. The light will flash twice and go out.

"service engine soon" light on

should have two lights check engine and service engine soon.check engine means there is a malfunction.service soon is reprogrammable,when you change you oil. check you owners manual for reset.

it could be both but im guessing that you changed the oil before the exact time for it to be done . if so have some one reset the light for you im not sure exactly how to do it on the 03 century if you have the drivers manual it will tell you how to reset it.

1. CHANGE OIL SOON light will come on when engine oil has broken down enough to require changing. After changing oil, reset oil life display.
2. To reset light, turn ignition on. Open glove box to access oil reset button. Press and hold oil reset button in glove box for at least 5 seconds, but not longer
than 60 seconds. The CHANGE OIL SOON light will flash 4 times to indicate light has been reset.

How to Reset the GM Oil Life System
After changing the engine oil, the system must be reset.
1. With the engine off, turn the ignition key to RUN.
2. Fully push and release the accelerator pedal slowly
three times within five seconds.
If the CHANGE OIL SOON light flashes,
the system is resetting.
3. Turn the key to OFF, then start the vehicle.
The oil life will change to 100 percent.

You should not reset the ck eng light until you have repaired the problem. Its just going to come on again, unhooking the battery MAY reset it. To reset the change oil light, turn the key on and floor the gas pedal 3 times, that should reset the light.

I need to reset my oil change.

Turn on the key and within 5 seconds press the gas pedall 3 times to the floor and then watch the change oil soon light blink a few times and it is reset for another term of driving.
