Have a 96 olds aurora heating core went out,replaced,brother took the hard way of getting to it by taking it out,then he broke the drum had to replace with new one,afterwards had a mis to the engine then just quit and would just turn over and over,i found one fuse blown 15 amp on the inside car fuse box,it said 15 amp Dis,i replaced it started,then 5 mins later blew out again and engine died and did same thing just turns over,anyone have any idea what this fuse is for? also been told theres a distrubutor on this yr..i see none all of my wires run to the front and to the back of engine,its a 4.0 L engine,i have looked p the distrubutor and it shows a 96 has one cept it doesnt run spark wires to it,in fact i couldnt even find it,at one site shows a distrubutor that looks regular where plug wires go to,then seen another that was a small black type of distrubutor,never seen anything like it that one didnt have the place for spark wires,so was wondering if anyone knows where its located on the motor and if the DIS 15 amp fuse has something to do with this,if one goes bad will it blow out the fuse? appreciate any suggestions,james
It may be your ignition switch. Bang on the bottom of your steering column with the key in the "on" position and see if the fan will fire up. My car is doing the exact same thing right now, but I can basically rub the bottom of the trim under the steering column and it comes on. It will also start when I hit a good bump on the road.

If none of your coils are firing then it is possible you have lost the ignition module. It mounts under the coils and is not hard to change. Good Luck

Its not the packs, I am pretty sure that is the distributor in the engine, (the one the coil pack hooks up to) I thought I knew my stuff until a 15 year old neighbor kid came and fixed my sundance that way, that or its a loose battery wire. hope this helps, have a nice day, and drive that thing like it was meant to be driven!
