I have suzuki grand vitara 2001 model diesel, the car came to a halt upon checking the clutch disc was burnt we changed it but when we were changing it the cam sensor got broken. We bought a new from suzuki local dealers in Ghana, it enable us to start the engine but with a lot of smoke and will not pool as the accelerator is not picking fire. We tried to fix the problem but now the car will not start at all. The battery is fine so what might be the cause.

check your timing chain and see if your engine has a tensioner as that may have failed. chain may be just a lil loose
SOURCE: I have black smoke coming from my exhaust
It is over fueling black smoke is diesel. You will need to get all the injectors tested and check the air filter may be clogged. The tapping noise is what is known as a diesel knock. This should leave it when you get the over fueling sorted.

Take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for any fault codes stored. The check engine light is to alert you that the computer has noted a fault in one of the car's systems. Getting the codes will show what the computer has noted and curb the need for speculation. Most parts stores will perform the scan for free. Hope this helped and best wishes.
