The light on my dash bored for the parking brake will not turn off it is red and has a exmation mark in the middle of it ! like that one and beeps for a little while then stops but light stays on have tried everything need some help
The red brake warning lamp will illuminate if a: there is a base brake problem (low fluid) check the fluid leve if low find out now where it is going, low or worn out pads/shoes, or B: the e brake pedal is not ruturing all the way up, try pulling on the release handle while pulling the pedal up, if that fixes it find out why the pedal is falling probably needs a new ebrake pedal or new cables

There is a pressure switch, that gets depressed or released due to pedal position. When you engage the PB the arm is depressed...releasing the pin-like pressure switch.
Examine the pedal itself...looking where it 'touches' the car.
Depress the pedal....while watching this place. Look for a 'pin-like' switch that is allowed to extend when the parking brake is engaged, and that would be depressed in when the arm is released/disengaged.

I also had that problem, at first it only came on when i accelerated, then it just stayed let. After I got my tires changed it went away. I was told it was because there was a buildup of brake dust. Take the front wheels off and rinse it down and that should take car of it.

There is probably a problem with you anti lock brake system. Have it checked at your local dealership. Brakes are a problem that should never be let go.

Only two things should normally activate the light:
Parking Brake engaged switch.
Low Fluid level in master cylinder.
I don't think you did any work to the Parking brake, but you should check it to be sure.
I believe that you would have double checked the fluid level, but please check it again.
Other things that could activate the light would be a worn or leaking master cylinder; improper brake fluid type; a damaged brake booster diphragm .
