Sliding door locks automatically - driver's side

As soon as the sliding door closes, I can hear the door lock. I'm not sure if it's a bad actuator or relay or whatever. I know that when I pull the lever to open the gas door, this door locks by design to protect the gas door from being crushed. So, I guess something could be wrong with that as well... My battery also keeps dying with a good battery and alternator, so I charged it, disconnected the negative, then touched it back and listened. As soon as the negative touched the battery terminal, I heard that door lock again. I think it is constantly trying to lock, which is draining the battery. Any ideas? Is there a relay that needs replacing? Is this possibly the lock actuator? Should I just give up and take it to a mechanic? I need our minivan back, and I can't let my wife drive it with the battery constantly dying on her.

SOURCE: Driver side door won't lock electronically

very common problem is the door lock actuator. i would recommend replace that. a good idea also would be to remove the door panel and check all the rods that connect to the assembly and make sure one didnt pop off.

Testimonial: "I figured it out before i got the answer, but you were right, it was the actuator for sure, i replaced it and it worked just fine. thank you!"

SOURCE: The lock on the power sliding door (driver's side)

You should be able to manually unlock the door and open it,even without the power lock working. The center roller on these vans is prone to wear, causing binding and misalignment of the electrical connectors that you see when the door is open. This may cause the locks to be disabled and the door to not open with the power button. There are three rollers on each door, but many times only the center one is worn out.The installation & alignment of the rollers is critical on this vehicle,so you should consider the dealer for this repair. good luck

Here are the codes you posted along with the possible issues that may have caused each code to be triggered. It's possible the circuit these switches share has a problem that needs to be diagnosed.

It could well be a problem with the wiring or a problem with the connections between the switches and the Multiplex Control Unit, or possibly with the Multiplex Control Unit itself.

How do you know if rear passenger sliding door on a 07 Toyota Sienna is off track?

Try an obvious thing first. Check the actual runner channels on the body of the vehicle aren't full of dirt and rubbish. I've been caught out by silly stuff like that!
This sounds like it might be an issue with the 'Automatic' part of the door. Does the Auto close still work? Something might have come loose inside the mechanism and is blocking the doors movement.
If the door was off it's tracks the door wouldn't sit right when closed and you would have trouble locking it. The door would look either twisted, where the door gap is wider at one end than the other, or it would sit further out at the top or bottom as you look down the side of the vehicle, where it's jumped out of its runners.

More than likely the connecting rod that goes from the door lock actuator to the locking mechanism itself came unattached. These rods are usually held in place by a small piece of plastic that the rods "pop" in and out. The only other thing i can imagine possible is that the door lock itself is actually seized up. In order to attempt to fix this, you would have to remove the door side panel to see the inner workings of the door, and this is quite difficult on most side sliding doors (i have a 2000 pontiac montana w/dual sliding doors). Hope this can help you solve your problem.

It sounds like you've got a broken wire on the drivers side door. Usually this occurs at the flex point of the wiring harness. Peel back the outer covering carefully exposing the wires inside. Repair any broken or those about to break. Solder & retape or shrink rap with heat gun.Hope this helps. Good luck!

I have a 2003 Astro - interior issues

I had the same problem and found that my sliding side door "closed" switch, which is small and round and in the door frame, was not being pushed open all the way when the door was closed! As soon as I put a credit card in the spot where the switch hits the door all the locks and lights worked again. So I just taped a washer to the door where the pin switch hits it for now. The computer thinks the door is still open and will not alow them to lock and the lights won't operate right either.

1999 Pontiac Montana passenger sliding door stopped working.

Verify the wiring harness which passes under plastic step & carpet at front passenger side. This wiring harness goes from the firewall to the pillar on the right side and some have crimped connectors in them to act as junction between two or more wires (ususlly the 12volt feed), which deteriorate with time, especially with Salt & Water. Then the electric sliding door stops working and even driver the electric seat can loose power.

the reason the locks dont work more then likely there is a code stored in the bcm for a lock output circuit normally caused by one if not both of the sliding door acuators. even if you change the acuators the locks still will not work until the code is cleared.
