SOURCE: need help on how to program remote for 2003 bmw
Initialize keys. Have all keys for the car with in reach. Get in car and close all doors. Put 1 key in the ignition and turn it to the key on engine off position and quickly turn it off and remove the key. With in 5 seconds press and hold the unlock button while pressing the lock button 3 times, after the 3rd press release the unlock button. If successful the door locks will lock then unlock. For the remaining keys you do not need to cycle the ignition just press the buttons as mentioned before.

hello doc....
The emergency brake is mechanical not electrical. There is no fuse for the emergency brake. It is most likely that the brake cable leading to the rear brakes is stuck. This is quite common in vehicles with automatic transmissions because the e-brake (parking brake) is not used very often. As a result the cables get rusty and stick. It is also possible that the cable needs to be adjusted; but it is more likely that it will need to be replaced due to 7 years of exposure to road dirt, water, salt, etc. etc. etc. You may be able to release it by putting the car in drive and then into reverse to put a little pressure on the cable. If it does release for you, still have it checked as it will lock up again. Joe Thanks for choosing Fixya!

i cant not find the switch and the car smells like its on brakes(hand brake/parking brake)im worried this cud cuz damage somewhere
since you do have a hot brakes smell, please do the following test to confirm if your brakes jummed or not. Get in the gar ,put the key on the ingintion, pump several times the brake pedal until become solid, keep your foot on the brake, start the car and see whether the brake pedal do slight move down. if so the servo system is working and you should go to brakes master cylinder or brake hoses or the ABS Antilock Brake System.. The other test ask someone to help by letting him to press the brakes pedal and you do release the bleeding nipples on all the brake calipers front and rear allowing the brake fluid to come out without pumping appart the first time. After that start the car and put in motion and cecke if it moves freely and also if the light goes off. If so and on second braking attempt the brakes still free you have to start working wheel by wheel to find if the problem is either on the brake hoses ,calipers or the brakes master cylinder.
thanx a lot
