Sudden acceleration - happened in a parking lot so no injury but car hit a 2 foot cement retaining wall and is unfixable according to the dealership.

Flush radiator

The easiest way to flush, if radiator is left in the vehicle, is to have the car at normal operating temperature, open the radiator drain, and put a garden hose into the cap opening. Turn it on till as much water enters the radiator as is leaving the drain. Run the engine as you are flushing, and run it till the water runs clean out the drain. Then shut off and refill with a 50-50 mix of water and antifreeze.
If you take the radiator off, you could run the hose into the bottom hose fitting and let it drain out the top hose fitting or the radiator fill neck. A simple back flushing method that may help dislodge and flush out any particles-but the first method should work well enough if your radiator is in good shape and not clogged up with rust and scale.

I can't find the plug to flush my radiator? Where is it?

It is either on the passenger side or driver side, lower corner of the radiator-it has a plastic bolt, and you usually need to remove a lower panel to gain access to it to drain it.

How do i drain the old coolant from radiator. does the drain plug comes out or just turns to one direction. thanks

hi,, yeah you just turn it out, right to tighten, left to slacken, remember to remove your cap and leave a hose of running water flowing through the radiator to help wash out all the old stuff.

PS.. IF cant find the radiator drain plug, remove the button radiator hose..

I have a 1995 buick century. i want to flush radiator, but i couldn't located the draining valve. i need a help, if you can locate the draining valve for radiator.

Hi, if there is not a petcock or plug at the bottom of the radiator, you can just remove the lower radiator hose to drain the coolant. Many cars do not have drain plugs. Please let me know if you have more questions and thanks for using FixYa.

Where is my radiator drain plug for 2002 buick century

Generally, when one wants to evacuate the system of the radiator fluid, one can remove the bottom hose in order to quickly drain the system, much faster and more minerals comeout that way than if you use the drain plug which is very small.

Can't find radiator drain valve on 2003 Buick Rendezvous

You will have to jack the car up and get under it to get to the drain valve, it is located on the back side of the radiator tank, drivers side, if not there then opposite side..
