Squeeking belts

They are not tight enough. Find another mechanic, the first one is incompetent. There is also an anti squeal spray if you prefer that:

When slowing down Batt light comes on and loss of power steering. Had alternator and batt checked and came out good. this is an intermitant problem.

is the belt stretched out! or the tensioner is weak, and not holding enough pressure on drive belt. if in doubt replace the belt. there should be marks on tensioner for the belt tension. if battery and alternater are ok. then it has to be the belt, tensioner, are the battery connection clamps, clean and tight! good-day !

Our car is squeeking when we turn it on or run the air before its warmed up.. we have already changed the belt... any other troubleshooting??

Either the belt is not tight enough or your airconditioning compressor is low on oil. If the low oil is the problem, you are about to have an expensive problem when the compressor fails. So: be sure the belt is tight enough. If it is, get some oil added to the compressor. It's a special type of oil called PAG oil, by the way, so be sure to get the right stuff.

Recently replaced belts and now have a squeek until the volt meter hits 12. then it goes away. what causes this? have a friend with the exact same problem....

hello there
it could be caused by a slipping belt that is not tight enough try tightening the belt and see if this solves the problem if not try using some belt dressing on the belts and see if this resolves the problem hope this helps you out sincerely D.Jones

Loud squeeking come from the belt, the belt is good 2006 escalade

if the belt is squeeking its on its last legs, change it soon before it brakes, check that its tight and not slipping if its been slipping it will still need to be changed, but as a get you home,,, put some talc powerder on the belt that shuts them up for a time

Very loud squeek coming from Engine 2004 kia srento lx

check the alternator belt tightness, alot of the problems are caused by this :)

listen for the noise with the bonnet up, think you will find its the alternator belt squeeking or maybe a tensioner :)
