SOURCE: Ihave code p0703 brake switch, what can I do?

P0703 (M) Brake Switch Stuck Pressed or Released Incorrect input state detected in the brake switch circuit (Changed from P1595).

The switch cost like 20 bucks. It is located on the brake pedal, it will either be in front of or behind the pedal at the top. It will have a plunger that contacts the pedal, and an electrical pig tail. usually you just twist it and pull it out kinda like a headlamp.

Hope this help (remember rated and comment this).

SOURCE: need help on how to fix injector #1 control circuit

the injectors are controlled by the computer that gets signals from sensors. check sensors first, all of them on the engine and then, if no problem found, have your computer check by repair shop

SOURCE: What does P0703 brake switch circuit B mean?

sounds like you may have a bad brake light switch from the factory. Id take the one you put on and try swapping it with another one. if you have a scan tool, check and make sure the brake light switch (will probably read BOO on scan tool) reads "on" when you push it down and "off" when your foot is off of it. check voltage and ground at your connector to make sure you have a complete circuit. If it reads "on" when you disconnect the switch, replace the switch.

SOURCE: Check Engine light with code P0703

About $20 for a new brake light switch that can be installed in about 15 minutes or less usually, may be good insurance for a long distance drive. The code doesn't say it's a switch malfunction, the computer has seen a fault in the brake switch circuit and set the code-could just be a poor connection there.
More important, how do the brake lights work? I think I'd buy the switch or check the connector by the pedal at least. The computer may not let the cruise control work because of the code.

2010 Suzuki Kizashi SE 2.4. I recently replaced the motor and ECM. It will crank but won't start, I have 3 codes P062f, P0703, and U0100.

Question edited for clarity

The ECM and the engine need to be from the same vehicle and then the ECM needs programming with your VIN Number and your mileage.

Code U0100 What Does the U0100 Code Mean? DTC U0100 stands for "Lost Communication with ECM/PCM 'A. '" It is triggered once there is a loss of communication between your PCM and a particular module. Once this happens, the vehicle may shut off and it may not restart unless you address the issue triggering the code.May 2, 2021

Now i dont know a lot about automatics especially modern ones with all this fancy electronics thats used nowdays but i think its a fault with the temperature sensor for the gearbox. But where its located and what it looks like i have no idea it could even be mounted inside the gearbox .Sorry not a very good answer from a mechanic but?? very few of our europeon cars come with auto transmission .Evan when i do know whats wrong i cannot buy the parts for the gearbox as only re-con boxes supplied by the dealer so best advice is to try a specialist in auto box repairs only .PS some of my best students when i used to teach mechanics many moons ago were the girls so no excuses like iam only a girl please

How can fix code P0703 on mazda 6i v6 2005

The conditions that set this code are as follows:

The PCM monitors changes in input voltage on Brake Switch No. 1. If the PCM does not sense voltage changes at PCM terminal 82 when alternately accelerated and decelerated 8 times, the PCM determines that brake switch No. 1 has a malfunction

Possible Causes are:
  • Brake Switch malfunction
  • connector or terminal malfunction
  • Short to power circuit between Brake Switch terminal D and PCM terminal 82
  • Open circuit between Brake Switch terminal D and PCM terminal 82
  • Malfunctioning PCM
