2000 COROLLA VE BLINKING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

THE CAR IS SHAKING AND SPUTTERING. I CHANGED THE O2 SPARK PLUGS, NO CHANGE, CHANGES THE COILS, NO CHANGE, CLEANED THE MAFS, NO CHANGE, CHANGE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, NO CHANGE. JUST TODAY, CHANGED THE O2 SENSOR, NO CHANGE. I'M THINKING ABOUT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Hit and miss or change and see proceedures can get verry costly and as you observe not fix the problem. If it's not broke keep fixing it till it is. Sorry. Codes tell you where to go to ffind the problem and fix it only. As you have changed a number of things it would be good to reset codes by disconnect battery for ten min and have a coffee. reconnect and test drive to see if you still have problem and havn't accidently fixed it already. if not then start with codes and go from there

    my 1987 gmc 4x4 has a stationary steering wheel and their is no hole under key switch.so do i have to pull steering wheel to get to it? THANK YOU MICHAEL E SMALLEY SR.

Engine sputters, exhaust shakes, lagging accelleration

check the plugs again and see if they are oily again, if they are NOT oily check the ignition coil if it is giving current to all four plugs, if not ,change it.it might be shorting out when it is hot.........If the plugs are oily again, and assuming the valve cover has been changed,sorry to say you have an internal eng.piston ring problem. more tests must be done to pin point the problem.

Coil battery circuit may be loose or corroded causing the recurring code/light . Which code number are you getting ? Have you cleaned the throttle body and IAC as that can cause idle issues .

Take a compression test on # 4. It may be a little oil burning w coolant getting by the head gasket. POSSIBLE faulty injector or not firing on time. Ck for any oil in the anti freeze or anti freeze in the oil.

2000 Ford Windstar 3.8L error P0401 then P0404

if the check engine light is blinking,you have a misfire(spark plugs,plug wires or coil pack.inspect the plug wires for damage.The rear bank plug wires (at the fire wall) get alot of heat and the boots will crack, causing a misfire.You might want to have your local shop check it for you,to see if there is an open circuit or shorting in one or more of the plug wires.if it has been awhile since a tune-up,you might want to do that first,and inspect the plug wire boots also and replace them if needed.
