SOURCE: trying to change the cabin air filter

1. Open glove box
2. Unhook elastic retainer on right side
3. Locate the two "stop tabs", one on the upper left and the other on the right side. Push both to the left to clear their stops and the glove box will swing down, allowing access to the filter cover.

SOURCE: how to change 2006 Nissan Pathfinder microcabin filter

To change the cabin air filters (there are two, that are in same location), you first have to remove the glovebox. The glovebox itself will not come off. You have to get a phillips head screwdriver to remove the 5 screws. With the glovebox closed, locate the two screws underneath and remove, one on each side. Next open the glovebox, remove the two screws at the top. The fifth screw is on the right behind the plastic molding. Pull back on the top of the lower piece of molding until the bracket pops out. The piece of plastic located just above that piece needs to be pulled out. No need to take it out all the way, just enough to get to the screw. Once removed, with the glovebox open take the fuse panel cover to the right off to allow you better grip. Pull both sides evenly until glove box pops out.
Get a flashlight and shine it on the right side behind where the glovebox was. There is a small plastic cover about 1 inch tall by 5 inches long. It is clipped in place. Push up on the plastic clip with your thumb while pulling out and down with your other finger/fingers. Behind this is one filter. Remove it best you can. Be careful, mine had dead bee's/wasps/dust/dirt/pinestraw/etc. After removing the first, you will notice a second one to the right of that. Slide that one to the left and remove the same way as the first. Look at those filters when you remove and take note the direction of AIR FLOW ^marking. Before replacing with the new ones, vacuum out inside where the filters go as best you can to remove all that crud that fell off of the old filters when removed.
Reinstallation is the reverse of how you removed. I hope this helps all my fellow Pathfinders out there.

I have a 2001 nissan quest.can you kindly tell me where the cabin filter is and how manny

The cabin air filter is located behind the glove compartment, you will have to unscrew 7 screws to remove it and to get access to the In-Cabin Microfilters door. Nissan recommends to replace the microfilters every year or every 15,000 miles.

1996 nissan quest will not turn over it wants to start but wont does this mean the timing belt is broke?

Hello. Not necessarily. There are many possible causes of it not starting. Begin by changing the fuel filter. If that doesn't help, change the air filter. Finally try some starter fluid sprayed into the air intake when the cover is off of the air filter.

Strong fuel smell in cabin. 2005 Nissan. 2005 Quest. Any solutions?

Well first if you smell gasoline don't start the vehicle, check the entire fuel system locate the filter and check for leaking, also this vehicle uses a cabin filter to filter incoming air to the passenger compartment, locate this filter and replace it. there located sometimes behind the glove box door, or under the front cowling under the hood, in that space just under the wipers, If you can't find the solution and the smell persists, you need professional help ( with the car)
