99 Chevy suburban non of my headlights work, first just drl's worked with brights now I have none

About a year ago, my headlights stopped working. So I used my DRL's... When my DRL'S stopped working, I started to use my brights... Now, I have no head lights at all. My parking lights work fine, my dash lights work fine, the only problems is the lights and yes I did check fuses and lights. I'm wondering if it's the dimmer switch or he multi switch...

There are a couple other componets you are probably not aware of . The daytime running lamps module an the DRL relay . Rather then guessing or wondering as to the problem , leaning how to test electrical circuits using a wiring diagram an a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter is the preferred way to fix automotive electrical problems . This is how professional technician's do it , well a few probably . They'er are a few that just replace part's . Here is a web site for free wiring diagrams http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html

Chevy Venture 99 low beams don't work but high beams always working

I would start with checking the headlight bulbs (slim to none possibility but starting point) next go to the headlight switch.

My drl switch is bad iv'e concluded... but now i have no headlights high or low. is this a blown fuse from lack of drl switch replacement or what. i still have my parking lights but no headlights

Hi,
Likely the Headlights work through the DRL switch, too. Replace the switch (get a used one from a used parts/salvage/wrecking yard) or from a dealer...might call an auto parts store, too.

1995 chevy suburban headlights won't come on but running lights work (headlights previously worked). No high or low beams, no high beam indicator light. Bulbs seemed to be ok, fuses seem to be ok....

Common for the wire harness on the switch to go bad. Inspect the wire harness where it clips on to the switch and look for any signs of damage.

The plastic heats up from the current running through the switch and causes it to melt and then you loose connection caused from melted plastic between the contacts from the harness to the switch.

There is a upgrade to the headlight harness which is larger then the ones that came with the Suburban to address this issues. You can get them at the dealer or NAPA i believe.

Good luck and keep us posted. Thank you for using fixya and stay safe.

check the multi function switch.where the wires go into the switch may be melted.the low beam feed wire is probably melted off.try tilting the steering wheel.you may find they come on at a curtain spot.this is a common problem.happened on my 2000 chevy truck.

I have a 99 pontiac grand prix the DRL's work but the headlight and brights dont work i have replaced the bulbs the fuse and the breaker switch as well as the switch nothing seems to work even checked...

With the Key in the RUN position, check for battery voltage on the brown wire in connector 2 terminal H at the DRL module. Also check for battery voltage on the pink wire terminal C of the same connector. if you see battery voltage, then the IGN switch and the two fuses supplying power to the DRL are working fine.

Next, check the brown wire in connector 1 terminal H at the DRL module for battery voltage

I have a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 S. headlights are not working....

Does your car have daytime running lights? It may be the drl module. The relays are part of the IPDM (intelligent power distrubution module) and are not serviceable. If the drl module is faulty the symptoms are, no drl, and one or more lights not working. Usually not grounding within the drl module.
