Replacing the AC evaporator is a job best left to a service shop. It will involve recovering the refrigerant, cleaning the system and ports, checking sensors, checking the system for leaks and recharging the system.
you should have a shop evacuate system to see howmuch freon is in the system and pull a vacuum on it to make sure there are no leaks if no leaks if system was low they can recharge to proper level if u buy a recharge kit at parts store you risk blowing seals or hoses if you over charge
You will need to recharge it to get it to come back on, it has a pressure switch that will prevent operation until the level is brought back up to normal.
Alot of the time the cooling system will only work in Economy when your cooling system needs to be recharge. It does this to protect AC pump. Recharge and check for leaks. Should solve your problem.
Must be Air-Condition System Lines/ Hoses leaking R12 Freon (gas). MAYBE THE PULLY HUB BEARINGS FAILED OR DUE TO VERY LOW R12 FREON (GAS ) will not work. Because there is a switch in the receiver/dryer prevent AC from working when low R12 Freon present, to protect the system & compressor damages. You must fix the leaks, before recharging it. They must **** the old (residue) gases from the system & lines / hoses...... & stay in the vacuum pump 30 minutes to proof no more leaks. Recharge some oil for the old type R12 Freon gas. Before recharge it to 62-67 psi R12 Freon See the web site like www.youtube.com/video site to see How they service & repair air-condition system? Put the question to their search window. This is the question u should. How they service & repair air-condition system? Regards; MAR
