2000 Lincoln Navigator, How do you get the heater core out?

I need to replace the heater core in the 2000 Lincoln Navigator and I can not get the glove compartment apart to get at the heater core. I'm sure there's a trick to it or some hidden screws that I can't see. Anybody out there know anything or can point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

A buddy and I finally got the heater core replaced but did not label the dash pieces, are there any 'Re-assembly' diagrams u could suggest?

good old Ford Lincoln and mercury s don't know of single one you don't have to remove the complete dash to replace heater core

Far as trying to find re assembly diagrams that going to be hard to find if they even exist try calling Ford dealer ask for parts and they might be able to print you one out if they have one (they usually don't charge for this) if they don't have one good luck finding one because they probably aren't any

2000 lincoln Navigator I smell slight antifreeze smell through heat, checked over flow and the antifreeze in it was brownish have not noticed any moisture on floors but definately moisture on windshield. ...

Not much else. It is almost definately the heater core. The brownish stuff is rust. It may not be leaking bad enough to soak the floor yet, but it will.

2000 lincoln navigator when i turn on my heat i smell antifreeze from the vent and moisture on windshield

you have a heater core leak. If you start seeing coolant on the passenger side floor, that is another dead giveaway. This is not any easy replacement, you will have to remove the entire dashboard. Heater cores are pretty cheap though, the last one i bought was for a dodge, it was $35.00. I hope this helps.

Leaking antifreeze back by transmission passenger side when vehicle is not running

it sounds like the heater core hoses or even the heater core it self, you must use a small mirror to see where it is coming from in order to properly fix problem.,
