i found there is an electrical componenet, has to do with the computer, is a small black box on the distributer. if all else fails, but the general consensus is this part.

Sounds like no gas getting to the carb. plugged fuel filter, fuel line, bad fuel pump. the carb should squirt a little gas when the throttle is pumped. leave ignition off while looking down the carb and pump the throttle linkage to visually check that gas is squirting down the carb with each stroke of the linkage. maybe you are just out of gas!!

could be your fuel pump or your coil packs not giving out any spark

If it starts with starting fluid, this means the firing and electrical is fine, however, its not getting fuel. I suggest trying the fuel filter first, but, its probably going to be the fuel pump.

I also had this problem with mine. There's a main power cable that runs to the battery. The bolt was completely corroded, so there was no connection = no power to start the truck. Check that, it'll cost ya less than 5 bucks to fix.

There is no plugin. It is a gas engine. Check your antifreeze.

Will turn over but it wont start

What is the fuel pressure? these trucks need a certain amount of pressure to start, if low just 3psi it will not start, if you are sure the pump is good then you may bad spider injector. check fuel pressure first and also try spraying starting fluid into throttle body and see if truck starts. the pump needs 60 -66 psi to start the truck.

200 GMC Jimmy was hesitating while driving and then completely stopped running. would not restart.

if it is still cranking but not firing the first thing to check is fuel delivery. get a can of starting fluid from parts store and open the air cleaner box. spray fluid into half leading to the motor while someone tries to start the engine. if it fires you may have a bad fuel pump. good luck

2000 GMC Jimmy wont start. Seems to crank just fine but wont turn over. Sprayed starting fluid in and it didnt chug or do anything but keep cranking so I dont think it is fuel related. Any suggestions?

check for a spark if no spark and no fuel to feed bar for injectors ,then try spare key if that doesnt work then its dealer only to look at immobilisor
