They make a cigerette plug in with a 9 volt battery attached to it, to keep the radio alive while changing battery. Or you may be able to use a good battery with jumper cables attached to your car battery cables when you remove them, and keep 12 volts going while changing battery.

You need to keep a supply to it. You can buy various devices that plug into your cigar lighter. The quite simply have one of these square 9 volt radio type batteries in them. This keeps power on while changing battery. You could easily make something up with one of these batteries and a couple of leads going to the terminals after loosening the bolts. Be careful though and make sure your wires are secure so the do not come off while wrestling with the battery.

DISCONNECTING YOUR BATTERY without losing the RADIO CODE
I constantly read frequent requests for RADIO CODES referring to the disconnection of battery power ( whether its for changing the battery, etc.) and the radio is now INOP. Here is a simple way to save radio codes, radio stations, clock time and computer settings. Purchase from an auto parts dealer, a 9 volt battery powered lighter socket connector. Plug into lighter, do your battery work, After work is completed, disconnect, and radio will work as before. Unit will cost less than 20.00 and well worth it.

What happens if i change battery and dont know imoblistor code will it still connect
should be to replace battery with having cranking issues.just make sure ignition switch off keys out ignition. and turn radio off before disconnecting negative battery cable you may or may not lose radio code.if so dealership has to reprogram radio. your ECM may lose memory but it will reset after one drive cycle to restore driveability.

If I replace my own battery in a 2006 Honda Accord. Is there any programming that gets lost and needs to be redone?
Get a memory saver from walmart for a few dollars or so. It plugs into the cigarette lighter and will prevent memory loss from changing the battery which will otherwise erase the radio codes and render the radio disabled for anti-theft reasons.

If your battery does die, and goes below a certain voltage, then go to the honda.com website and look under the 'owner's' section and follow the procedure for entering the radio code after you have supplied the website with the information from the owner of the vehicle.

Losing all electronic settings like what? You probably won't lose them if you don't take an hour replacing a battery. The only problem I've had with replacing batteries is that the clock resets on most cars, don't be lazy, set it again.

Need to change battery in my used Land Rover. I do not have the radio code to reprogram after I put in the new battery.
get some jump leads and another battery of car, connect the leads to the terminals after you have loosened them make sure they stay connected while you remove the battery this way the radio will remain powered and you will not have to put in the code
