On the lower-right corner of the dashboard, you'll find the rotary switch that controls the headlights. On the same switch panel (just to the left of the main headlight switch) are a pair of sliding controls that control the headlight aiming (the right-hand slide) and the dashboard-light brightness (just to its left).
When the car's headlights are turned on, the dashboard lights are automatically dimmed, and sometimes this provides insufficient light to see the gauges clearly in bright daylight. But by holding the adjustment slide in the up position, you can turn the dashboard lights to their brightest level of illumination.
probably the headlight switch. also check the fuse panel. the dash lights should have their own fuse which if blown could indicate an electrical short.
there is one inside the car. 3 possible places; under the glove box, under the steering wheel or if you open the driver side door the corner of the dashboard usually triangular piece of plastic to remove
There is nothign wrong with your car-when you turn on the headlights the car believes you are turnung them on because it is dark outside, so it automatically dims your dashboard lights for you (since it now thinks it's nighttime). Your car already has daytime running lights, so you don't need to turn your headlights on in the daytime-they come on automatically when the car is running. You can keep your dash lights dim or bright by adjusting the small black dial on the left side of the dashboard, whether headlights are on or off if you want to.
check the dimmer adjustment knob for inst lamps.either its bad or you inadvertently turnud it all the way down.had the interior cleaned recently?they almost always accidentally turn it down.
